I would not recommend a house built by Zach Savage Homes. As an owner from a purchase made in 2019, I have had numerous issues with my new construction home in south Austin. I had not one, but two massive leaks occur due to negligent work in my master bathroom. It was a second floor leak, affecting my kitchen space below and master closet, making both unusable for a significant amount of time. Many items on original inspection report, despite contractual obligation to fix all items, to this date have not been fixed. Even after being made aware, Zach Savage himself does not take responsibility. After the first attempt to repair the master bathroom, my inspector came back out to do my 11month inspection, when the leak occurred again.. I am still waiting for my completed repair a few months later. Months without a master bathroom, really makes an owner want to warn other buyers from making the same mistake I did even when purchasing a house new, with a warranty.

I've worked with Zach on a one-off, city center Austin custom build. Contemporary-to-modern in design, and he was a great partner. I hired him on the recommendation of my architect. Here's why you should, too: 1. He's incredibly calm, even in the face of a freaked out homeowner. :) 2. He has a wealth of knowledge about all facets of build, even design, and how to best affect it. Don't quote me (ask him) but I think he's a third generation builder. See- it's in his DNA! 3. He has a deep knowledge of all things "build" within the City. Permits to tear-down, he saved me time which also saved me money 4. He respects budgets, and has relationships with a variety of good sub contractors/vendors. Big for us, within our focus. He never once left us with an overly-generous bid, instead working to pay attention to our needs- and move vendors, when needed. HUGE, in a city where land is getting quite expensive. Zach can help you win the battle. 5. He stays with the project, even after completion. Eh? Things happen, and he's never once let me down to keep this the build we were all trying for. Zach takes his Builder's Warranty seriously, and that's one of the many reasons he'll be in our market. building quality homes, no matter what happens with the market.

Zach was the builder for my 850 square ft, two-story modern house with two rooftop decks and a two car garage. This was my first experience building a custom home. Zach is knowledgeable, patient, helpful, courteous, and follows up on every question and request. He had a professional team of contractors and listens to suggestions. He admits when he doesn't know something, but then, he finds out what you need to know. He communicates by text, email, telephone and in person. He set up weekly meetings when needed. I highly recommend him.
