The name Stone Mountain is fitting for our region of towering granite peaks and breath-taking vistas of majestic Lakes and Rivers below, however the name Stone Mountain for us represents the English translation for our Norwegian name Stenberg, “sten” meaning stone and “berg” meaning mountain. The Stenberg’s immigrated from Central Norway and brought their love of Nordic Architecture with them. Nordic Architectural employs a combination of hewn beam and log to produce an extraordinary unique timeless look. The Stave Churches that dot the valleys of Norway date back 1,000 years and many are in use today. There is no metal connections used and rely on the time-tested method of Nordic timber framing. While we don’t anticipate a run-on Stave Church contracts coming our way however, we do try to keep the ancient Nordic craftmanship visible in our wood crafting. Many homeowners have commented on how refreshing it is to deal with a builder that can actually build. Our pledge to you is that Stone Mountain Builders personnel will maintain a constant presence over all phases of construction. We are not the ordinary "Paper Contractors".
