After years of saving and months of researching, I finally decided to team up with Lida Homes for my much anticipated kitchen renovation. Trusting the positive customer reviews, and their reputation for a thorough work ethic, I was confident in choosing Lida for the job. Throughout the project, the team at Lida was not only friendly but also demonstrated their high skill level and attention to detail. They listened carefully to my requests and were able to work within my budget, even completing the project under budget. The end result surpassed my expectations and I couldn't be happier with the outcome of our collaboration. Special thanks to Mika and Nick, who worked tirelessly every day to bring my vision to life while also taking into consideration the needs of my elderly pets. LIDA is amazing. They listened and gave us amazing suggestions without pressure. In fact, they made sure that what we wanted to do was appropriate for the house AND our budget. They made sure that what we wanted to do was fiscally responsible with current house prices.

Great experience with our home renovation by LIDA Homes. they wee very professional from start to finish. Their interior designer Mika was very helpful with the details of the design and coordination of materials/fixtures. We now have a much more modern looking home. The key person for our renovations was Nick, the project manager. He did a fantastic job of organizing the various trades to do the work that resulted in a very good outcome. Would hire LIDA Homes to build a new house in the future because of the job they did on our renovations and insist that Nick be our project manager.

We would highly recommend Lida Homes to friends, family or colleagues. From the initial meeting until the end, Lida Homes had great communication and was always accommodating to our plans and changes along the way. The system they have in place is fantastic. We always knew where we were at re timing, budgeting and upcoming scheduling. We also really valued that Lida Homes has everything in-house including their design and construction team, which made things a lot easier and quicker when having to adapt to changes. No matter who it was on the team we dealt with they were all very respectful, communicative, responsive, and helpful, which was needed for our first renovation project. As with any construction project there were some unforeseen challenges but Lida Homes did everything they could to assist and alleviate the stress. We now have a brand new garage, deck, bathroom and kitchen that were completed to first class quality and we couldn’t be happier with the finishings. The end product was exactly what we wanted. You’re in great hands choosing Lida Homes.

Lida Homes is an excellent homebuilder & general contractor and I highly recommend them to anyone in Victoria and/or the Saanich Peninsula BC area. Dave, Lisa and their team, headed in my build with Andrew and Lawrie are responsive, consultative and demonstrated only the highest integrity in the SFH they built for me in Sidney in 2020/ 2021. We worked collegially and cooperatively on the project from design though to final completion. Their many awards are well earned but don't do justice to the excellence of their project management and commitment to high quality detail.

Lida homes took on our challenging project, and while there were some hiccups with city approvals, the team made it all come together. The property/lot is on a 35% rocky slope and the house is situated high and back. At one point we thought we would have to use a helicopter to get material (roof trusses, etc), but the job Forman found suppliers and subcontractors that got the job done. They kept our neighbours as happy as possible, and allowed me hands on site direction, special suppliers, etc. We were also able to make adjustments to keep from price over runs. We are very happy with our home. There are very few things we would change, and those are related to emerging technologies.

Overall, we were very happy with the service provided. LIDA Homes and all their subcontractors were very professional and available when needed, even after the job was finished. The quality of work was great and timelines were kept to as much as is possible in the construction industry. Using LIDA Homes was the best decision we made when we decided to put on an addition that more than doubled the sq footage of our 1925 home. The quality workmanship was backed up by great costumer service, any questions we had we quickly addressed. LIDA ensured that anyone who worked onsite was respectful of our project and neighbours. I have already referred LIDA to a couple of friends. Coworkers who were going through renovations at the same time were envious that we finished on budget while they went over budget and went through two contractors.

LIDA Homes were contracted to build our master bedroom addition and to renovate various areas within our rancher property including bathrooms and general living space. LIDA's trades people were professional in all aspects, reliable, respectful, on time and courteous. The quality of work was of good quality and we are delighted with the finished product. LIDA has been a pleasure to deal with, they were very customer focused, there were no surprises as the communication between LIDA, their trades people and our family was streamlined through their online management tool which also helped with tracking budget. This tool kept much inline and reduced the potential for surprises! We enjoyed having the tool to closely monitor our spending. Any issues that came up during the building process were dealt with promptly. LIDA had us in our home on time just a few days prior to Christmas which was very appreciated! We would recommend LIDA without hesitation an in fact have on many occasions already!

I had the pleasure of working with Dave Stephens and his amazing team at LIDA Homes earlier this year on a whole home renovation for a mutual client. Lida Homes constructed a full house build which we still own today. It has been 5 years since the constuction of the home, and there have been no issues with any of the building materials from the initial concrete all the way to the finishing. By far the best value and open building system in our current market. I was provided with Excel spreadsheets with all the material and labour cost sheets attached. There were no mystery prices or vague costs associated with the home. Every cost, including all sub-contracts, was listed clearly on the spreadsheet and this is exactly what was reflected in the costs and receipts. Given all the stories of shady builders and run-away project costs, many people are rightfully scared of building a new home. The system with Lida Homes made this a non-issue and I would build again.

I originally hired Lida Homes to do a complete reno on my main bathroom. I was so please with the quality of work and the professional trades people he uses, I decided to do a complete reno on my Condo. Dave was professional, courteous and on top of everything. He answered all my questions and didn't sugar coat anything. You can't beat honesty. My renovations are complete and actually turned out better than I thought they would. The previous contractor led us on about the jobs being done, and the time they were going to be done. Needless to say, he never finished the job because he was not capable of doing it. We hired Dave and LIDA Homes to create a living space in a basement of a 100 years old house that was primarily used as storage space. Dave informed us of the processes involved from drawings to completion. As I had thought, this would have been a tremendous task to undertake for someone without construction knowledge, such as myself. His communications skills during the entire process were commendable. He kept us informed of the progress, often during the weekend. Dave’s contractors were highly professional and friendly, qualities that reflect Dave’s own. Fabulous. I can’t say enough about how amazing each tradesperson was to work with. Every individual that I met was pleasant, listened to what I wanted or though and did their very best to produce my vision. And then there was Dave who oversaw everything. Dave called or dropped by daily to ensure everything was proceeding as planned (and responded with grace and humour when I occasionally changed a plan!). Dave’s common sense approach to my renos helped me relax about everything. It’s hard to trust someone to take apart and then put back together your home, but Dave inspired absolute trust and confidence. I added in a few things as we proceeded and was expecting that my changes would add quite a bit to the contract price that Dave and Lida Homes had providing to me. I was wrong the ‘add ins’ that I wanted were less than $1,000 above the original contact price!! I can’t say enough about the work Dave and Lida Homes did for me! Thank you!!!

Several years ago I walked into a restaurant in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I was the only patron present. Four hours later I was sick. The reason I speak to this story is because you should always beware an empty restaurant, an empty movie theater, an idle garage or an idle General Contractor. With my hand over my heart, this is not the case with Lida Homes Inc. Dave and his team of professional, courteous artisans took my aged, rotting home and transformed it into a show case home while keeping the theme of the neighborhood. The work they do is done respectfully (I have young children and at no time did the contractors make excessive noise or use profanity). I am completely satisfied with the job and the great supervision that Dave provided through the entire renovation process. He immediately addressed our concerns and kept the quality of the work up to the highest standard. Returning to my opening statement, the only problem with Dave is that he is such a likable guy, it would be interesting to have a conversation with him for over 5 minutes that wasnt interrupted by his cel phone. I guess that is a measure of the quality of Lida Homes.

Dave is one in a million, a general contractor who is honest, trustworthy and communicative. He is a genuinely nice guy and does everything in his power to make his clients happy. We talked to other contractors before we chose Dave and it was apparent right away that Dave and LIDA Homes was the right choice for us. We are very happy we made that choice every day we enjoy our dream home. With a growing family we bought a large 1985 built home that was great on the outside and all 1985 on the inside. Dave helped us plan the renovation and we set an ambitious schedule. From the day we took possession till the day we moved in was about 2 months. In that time LIDA Homes replaced all the perimeter drains, gutted the place to the studs and essentially created an entirely new house inside from foundation to rafters. Dave ran the whole operation like clockwork and we are very impressed with the results. At times there were up to a dozen separate trades all working on the place at the same time. We can’t imagine trying to co-ordinate that ourselves but Dave did it and had the whole job done and dusted on time for us to move in. We are very impressed with the result. A job very well done.Dave knows his building trades and has the best people only a phone call away. He’s worth his weight in gold for that alone. When it all turns to custard (and in renovations something always does) Dave keeps a level head and always knows who to call. He proved time and time again we could rely on him to make it right and we are very thankful we chose Dave and LIDA Homes.
