We had the very unfortunate pleasure of having Danson Custom Homes build our dream forever home. Great to deal with until the contract was signed and a deposit paid. It went down hill from there…They preach they pay so much attention to detail except when it comes to level or square. There is no pride or tradesman ship taken by there trades. We have walls in our house over 1/2” out of square on 4’. Walls not plum as our one outer wall the cabinet guys had to custom cut the end cover of the cabinet to try hide how big of shims they had to put in to keep cabinets level. The rest had to be filled with silicone and painted to hide it. If building with them wherever in the contract it says custom it’s not your custom it’s what they want to put in and how they want it. Example- We gave them pictures of what we wanted for mudroom bench with hidden shelves they said no problem. It was written in the contract custom mudroom bench when time came to install it was extra $2500 if we wanted the way we had asked for otherwise he was building it the way he wanted. Contract only applies to home owner as well. Even on the small things. Being on a rural property law doesn’t require a check valve for septic like it does in a city service. But contract stated a check valve be installed. Until time for instal if we want the check valve extra $450 even tho contract which we both signed says it was part of the deal. Numerous things were under quoted through the build. And when questioned about it he simply said “if I quoted everything to full price I would never have gotten the build”. They were rarely onsite even though he said he was. I was onsite daily and would talk to his trades asking if he showed up that day most times was a no. You hire a builder to build your home they are suppose to be the quality control make sure things are done properly. We had to point out the things done wrong and then argue with him to get them fixed. I could go on and on of the issues we had through the build lots of which never got fixed. Word made its way back to the builder from other people we talked to about how disappointed we were with the build. Builder came to us and threatened to take me to court for slander. The definition of slander is - “the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a persons reputation”. Well there is no false statements levels and square don’t lie. Pictures don’t lie. I would 10/10 recommend any other builder before Danson Custom Homes.

We were unfortunate to start dealing with danson homes on our build they are far from professional. Would not reccomend them to anyone in the future go with a reputable builder instead to save yourself the head ache .

We were fortunate to with Danson Custom Homes on an extensive rural new build that featured an indoor poor, elevator and so much more. From initial planning through construction they were always helpful, professional and a pleasure to work with. They bring a conscientious manner to solving problems and are concerned about executing to a high level of detail. It was a true pleasure to work with Danson Custom Homes.
