I am a fourth generation Realtor in New Mexico and native Albuquerque resident. I grew up assisting my grandparents and parents in their real estate businesses from a young age. I attended New Mexico State University and graduated with an emphasis in Real Estate and Finance. I secured my broker license in 1996 and have been engaged in residential, new construction, and investment real estate since. In the last 10 years I have been a successful business owner. There are some great deals on Albuquerque homes for every kind of family or individual whether you’re a first time home buyer or looking for new investments. Two types of homes people may not think about but should consider are foreclosure homes or short sale homes. Foreclosure homes are homes that are owned by the bank, because the previous owners defaulted on their home loan. The banks are extremely anxious to get rid of these homes and, ultimately, they’ll sometimes give closing costs or allowances to make the house a little bit more attractive to you, the potential home buyer. Banks selling foreclosure homes can sell you a home at a fantastic price. Another home to consider for purchase is one known as a short sale home. A short sale is the result of a situation where a seller owes more on his house than it’s worth. In a situation like this, the bank and the seller is involved. Both parties are looking to sell the home for the best possible price, but are willing to negotiate. This option, however, takes a little bit more time to complete as they have room to turn down and/or accept offers.
