After reading Wendell Johnson's professionally written proposal for replacing my driveway, I knew that his company was the one I would select, over and above the other proposals . He detailed exactly the strength and quality of the materials that would be used . There were no surprises as to dates and costs. He accomplished exactly (even far better) than what he said he and his crew would do. Wendell and his crew worked tirelessly, professionally, knowledgeably, and courteously. They never wasted time and were always punctual. My driveway turned out to be the most wonderful and beautiful driveway in all of West Houston !

I don't recommend them for patio work. Wendell didn't actively supervise the work of the team once they started. He would come at end of day or after we had to call. His team installed, stamped and stained an extension to our existing patio, and added a fire pit and wall, both wrapped in flagstone, last fall. While the fire pit and wall both came out nicely, we've had numerous issues with the installation (pouring, staining, & sealing) of the finished patio. Issues included having to have a section of patio broken out and redone because it didn't match other areas and having to go with a darker stain in order to compensate for the lack of matching color over the entire patio they poured. He did leave the job in what we thought was a satisfactory condition. However, we did cite some bubbles which he said would flatten out. The bubbling has continued throughout spring and summer. The stain & seal in those areas is also lifting off. It looks much older than it should after less than one year. The bubbling/unsealed areas are obvious and impact the overall look of the work done.

It has been over a year since this work was completed. As stated by the customer, we tried several times to correct the problems and erroneously believed they were corrected.

We used Concrete Specialists due to the companies knowledge of proper preparation and installation. Many new driveways crack within 3-6 months after installation due to lack of knowledge. We are 9 months to the day and just as beautiful as the first week. Highly recommended!!!

Mr. Johnson, owner of Concrete Specialists. was referred by a neighbor. We could not be more pleased with the end product, a new driveway. Mr. Johnson is highly professional and thorough, from his detailed estimate to the completed work. He actually did physical work on the driveway with his crew. Mr. Johnson will be engaged once again should we want other concrete work. He and his crew did excellent work for us.
