Superior Fence & Ornamental Iron Inc. has been a family owned business since 1962. Marvin Tennikait started his business as Superior Fence & Playground Equipment located at 605 E. Edwardsville Road in Wood River, IL. Then in the mid 60’s after purchasing a small ornamental iron business the company name changed to Superior Fence & Ornamental Iron. For more than 45 years we have completed monumental projects in residential and commercial including many city projects. Our product range includes: signs, curved and straight stair rails, balcony rails, railing for porches, patios and decks, driveway gates with operators, walk gates, fences, window guards, wine cellar gates, garden gates, mailbox stands, garden accents and much more. Marvin remained involved with the business until his death in December 2000. His son Greg, who had worked with his father since he was a young boy, then, took over the business. In 2004 the company moved to 12 E. MacArthur Drive in Cottage Hills, IL to expand their shop space and include a showroom where there are many samples and pictures of projects. Marvin ran his business with pride and integrity. There were no projects too big, too small or too difficult. Greg is very proud of what his father has accomplished and continues his business in the same manner. The hallmark of a Superior Fence & Ornamental Iron Inc. project is the quality of our work. From inception to completion, we take great pride in designing, fabricating and installing the finest custom ornamental metalwork available.
