From start to finish and follow up one year after we moved in review❣️ July 2022 - I have never been to Schumacher homes. My husband and I wanted to visit and to see what plans and designs they had to offer. We met with Brian Nelson at the Cygnet site. He was incredible to work with. His professionalism, pride and attentiveness to what we were looking for was amazing. Just by talking with him initially on the phone and sharing our wants in a new home he presented us with a home plan that was a great template to start with. After our second meeting, he was able to then create a custom home to our very liking. He was never pushy. He always kept our plans in mind. It was an incredible experience. No wonder we decided to go with Schumacher Homes. Update one year later Aug. 2023 Just as Aaron Mahan promised, Schumacher came back out 1 year later to our home and addressed every single area of concern that we had. They repaired nail pops, corner beads, imperfections of any kind. They are top notch. They repainted the repaired areas. And even Culley, our Schumacher Warranty Repair Rep, cleaned my fan blades while he was putting a finishing touch on our wooden beam. (See photo) They brought out the very best 3rd party dry wall/painter…. Mark Lewandowski is awesome. Culley and Mark made this a painless and even great experience. NEVER did they look down on one of our needs. They were like “Give it to us!! If you want to build and you want the care after the build, then Schumacher is the builder with integrity, the professionalism, the skill and the follow through you’re looking for. Our Schumacher Contractor during the build was Brian Arbaugh. I cannot begin to thank him enough for pretty much holding our hand through the entire process. His professionalism and integrity went above and beyond. Thank you Aaron Mahan for the incredible patients and follow through since we moved into our home back in August 2022. You have orchestrated so much on our behalf and we are profoundly grateful. Thank you Schumacher Homes for building us our forever home and for ensuring even a year later that it is every bit what we expected it to be and what you ensured it would be.

You always hear about horror stories from others when building a new home, but this is not one of them. All of the Schumacher Homes construction crew members were very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions we had. We had a few questions on the rough-in walk-through about placement of plumbing and electrical wires for the air conditioner which the construction foreman answered in detail. He gave us his personal phone number and let us know to call or text day or night if any issues came up. Our expectations were far exceeded. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Schumacher Homes to anyone looking to build a custom home.

Our house was the first house built in our place by this Shhhitmacher. Will never recommend and will discourage if considering, they don't deserve your money and they choose the cheapest materials on the planet and the cheapest builders. Our house is not even 10 years old but looks like century old, with paint peeling and our columns in front of our house are disintegrating. We had flooding in the kitchen the first month we moved here. The first heavy rain, we had water pouring from our chimney and so many more to tell. NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY... VIOLET

Never use Schumacher homes. Absolutely terrible, its been almost a year and still waiting on bowing walls to be ripped out and redone in master bathroom, was told outside painting would be finished in the spring because it was to cold to paint last fall. Kitchen cabinets have bare wood showing with no paint, the painters cleaned their brushes outside and splattered paint all over siding then used paint thinner to remove the paint and ruined the siding which is still not replaced. The tub surround in the main bath has a hole in it which was done while they was intalling it and was told they can fix that and nobody will ever know it was there, except nobody is fixing it so we dont use that shower because water will pour in behind the tub and cause more issues. And for the best one, our electrician was here today and he found 3 floor joists are snapped in half, a phone call was made and was told will see if can send out the same guy they have sent out for everything else but yet not 1 thing has been fixed yet and here we are coming up on the cold weather again when they cant paint outside, so I'm guessing maybe a year ago they said will finish in the spring they musta meant the spring of 2021. The worst thing is watching another Schumacher home being built a few houses away and cant even get somebody to come fix my issues, I guess that's because they already got our money and are still waiting to get the money from the new house being built.

Having found the perfect lot we were apprehensive about engaging a custom builder till we found Schumacher. They had the perfect plan, allowed any custom changes and quoted a guaranteed price. The home was completed in less than 6 months for exactly the price quoted and is awesome. Highly recommended.

I love my Schumacher Home! The people that work for Schumacher Homes were easy to work with.They gave us a realistic timeline for project completion.They answered questions and concerns promptly. I don't plan on moving but if i did I wouldn't hesitate to build with Schumacher Homes again.

Schumacher Homes is doing a fantastic job. Everything is going up on schedule. The quality of the jobs done is excellent. They always keep in touch to let me know what's happening next. I would recommend them to everyone considering to build a home. They customized the home to what we wanted. We love the design and have got numberious complimentso on our home.

When my husband and I came across Schumacher Homes we were in the very early stages of seeing if this little dream of building a custom home was even possible. We visited other builders in the area, but something just was off. They were nice, but it didn't feel like what they had to offer was the right fit for us. It was when we went to Schumacher for the first time that we got excited about building! We started by visiting every model home we could drive to. In those visits we found the perfect home that fit our needs, and we made an appointment with a Sales Consultant for more information. They walked us through the entire building process from start to finish. It was the most organized process out of any builder we talked with, and that gave us the confidence we needed to move forward with our dream. We went room by room of the home, and made any changes we wanted. We went through the design studio, and even put together what our new home looked like. By the time we were done we had an itemized quote line by line of exactly what our home would cost. To our surprise... we were right on budget to what we told our consultant we wanted to stay around. We were hesitant to sign, because we had a house to sell and were in the process of relocating. We weren't sure if the home would sell quickly so we went home and got it on the market. To our surprise it sold in 4 hours with a cash offer. We felt at this point a Schumacher was the builder for us, and we were excited to move forward. We signed our contract, and had a couple meetings to finalize everything. We used one of their preferred lenders to finance the home since our bank didn't specialize in new construction loans. We closed about 30 days later, and then Schumacher did all the leg work by getting our permits and scheduling everything to start. We were so excited! In the first day we had a hole. Then the next it was footers... and then walls. It was amazing to us at how seamless the process was, and how well organized they were. We had a couple of hiccups along the way, but in building a home you have to be understanding in that there may be mistakes. Our personal builder made sure that everything was exactly how we wanted it, and envisioned it. We got the keys to our home ahead of the 150 day guarantee, and we haven't looked back sense. Honestly, we enjoyed the process so much that we may build another one in a few years. Picking Schumacher to join us on this journey in my opinion was the best decision we could have made.

We had the Chesapeake built on a 90 acre parcel. The home is beautiful! There is no doubt that Schumacher Homes are built with quality. The house took about four months to build was completed in Mid-August 2015. The problems came with the finishing work. I realize that the finishing work on a home is the most difficult as it takes logic, dedication, talent and patience. Yes, they have promised to correct all problems but they have lost my trust. I submitted a list of major problems 90 days ago and we are still trying to figure out how the defects will be corrected and when. A promise that work would take place in two weeks turned into a visit four weeks later with a new plan and another wait for supplies to be ordered. There were subcontractors that returned immediately and corrected problems and for that I am grateful. I understand that small things need to wait until the one year (unpainted walls, overspray of paint on wood stairs that looks like a month of dust, blobs of plaster on smooth ceilings, unpainted shoe moldings and general eyesores) ; but some of our problems are large and because we cannot get a plan from Schumacher I feel that we are being forced into mediation. When I write 'large' I'm referring to jigsaw puzzled tile in the master bath, crooked walls, beams on the second floor pulling away from the ceiling and walls, a fireplace that is off center in a room and; well, the list goes on from there. I want in writing what will be done when and a guarantee on the quality. And I want it understood that Schumacher is not doing me a favor by making these corrections, they are doing what they were paid to do and are now inconveniencing my family. I had to make sure payments totaling approximately $500,000 were made on their schedule, have the subcontractors I hired and paid directly scheduled timely or face the consequences; I think it's only fair for Schumacher to do the same.

We built with Schumacher Homes. We have been in our home for 1 yr. the build process went really good until the last couples weeks when the paint and drywall were being finished. At the time we were upset but realized their work was going to be limited and they reminded us that they come back at a year to redo/finish anyrthing we wanted. They just came back and said everything we wanted would not be a problem. Our contractor Tom was a good guy to work with. I don't recommend letting the lady who takes you through the design center to give prices because we were charged a couple thousand more than what was expected on a couple items. Overall our experience with them was good and hopefully everything that comes with the house including 10 yr structural and 30 yr roof/ dry basement stays good.
