Rovan Handcrafted Furniture is a St. Paul based design/make studio. Dedicated, but not limited to contemporary design. Rovan can build any piece to fit your desired aesthetic as well as create a functional piece of furniture that enhances the life of your home or workspace. Growing up in Iowa, Andy spent many hours in his garage taking apart drums, cutting, drilling, sanding, and putting them back together only to experiment how certain things effect the tone of the drum. He quickly realized how much he loved working with wood, and building with his hands. After high school Andy moved to Minneapolis, MN to find himself working at a furniture restoration shop. “I loved repairing old furniture and giving it a new life, but one day it hit me. I had seen the carcass of chairs and tables so many times I thought to myself ‘…I could build that…I want to build.’ Before starting his business in Saint Paul, MN, Andy studied Fine Woodworking & Furniture Design in Denver, CO. Andy has not only learned the trade through school, but from working in unheated shops in Northern Colorado with an architect & designer, to furnishing million dollar homes, and now creating one-of-a-kind pieces for clients all over the country.
