Debbie was exceptional. She treats you like you are her most important client. She allows you to be true to yourself but guides you along the process. She made many wonderful recommendations that I would not have thought of myself and they ended up being the favourite part of our renovations/ design. We were thrilled that Debbie was able to design our kitchen. Debbie is knowledgeable and has a variety of resources that reduce the stress and uncertainty of changing any room. When Debbie was creating a layout for our kitchen she provided many options. Her goal was to stay true to the style of our home. Debbie provided us the opportunity to make decisions that were best for our house, but always open to provide suggestions or another point of view if we were unsure on something. Our previous design was outdated, crowded, and not functional, it was a U-set up that was connected to our dining room. We did not want to make the space bigger by knocking down any walls. Debbie designed a layout that provided the space we wanted. She was also able to open up the room, which created a whole new environment for our kitchen and dining room. When questions or concerns arose Debbie was always available and able to address them quickly and effectively. When we were unsure about the colours, style, and so forth Debbie suggested sites, showrooms and other resources for us to explore. Throughout this whole process Debbie wanted us to be happy with the changes, and we certainly are! She was with us every step of the way, and if we renovate another room Debbie will be the first one we call!

Debbie was excellent to work with, and so knowledgable about design and functionality. She designed our kitchen, and actually our whole main floor. She often noticed things we didn't (for example, moving the entryway closet back a foot to create a better foyer space). While she knows design so well, she never told us we had bad ideas. She'd take any idea we had and describe how that might work, or if it would mean changing other aspects of designs. She is thorough, and turns work around quite efficiently. We also appreciated that she's worked lots with contractors, so continued to work with us by liaising with our contractor to come up with design solutions to a few problems that arose when the work began. Debbie helped us get a beautiful and functional kitchen.

Debbie played a crucial role in the success of our recent second floor renovation which included reconfiguration of the master bedroom to create a master suite, expansion of the ensuite, addition of a walk-in closet, creation of an adjacent study including a reading nook and new book shelfs, and a complete update of the main bathroom. Debbie presented us with very creative design ideas and came up with the perfect plan considering our ideas, requests and budget. She collaborated with our contractor from start to finish always being on top of the progress, pointing out areas of improvements and adjustments in a very professional and polite manner always keeping our interests in mind. Her advice and guidance with product selections, tile, floor, color and furniture choices were invaluable. We truly appreciated Debbie's willingness to listen and discuss all of our ideas, needs and concerns. Her suggestions and solutions were always well founded. She understood us right from the start and her ability to bring our visions to life are amazing. Debbie is an extremely talented and professional interior designer. When we decided to renovate our main floor, which included our living room and kitchen, we hired Debbie to help wth the design process. She came to our home to meet with us, listened to our wants and ideas. From that she created a stunning design. Her plans not only incorporated our ideas, but added additional design elements that we had never considered. Debbie created a set of plans and specifications that we were able to give to contractors to have the work quoted on and completed. Debbie became my most trusted advisor throughout my renovation project. With a great eye for design, but also a thorough understanding of my needs, lifestyle and taste, she never led me in the wrong direction. Always respectful, she nonetheless is not afraid to make a suggestion design-wise that always is better than what I could have imagined myself. It has been a pleasure for my husband and I to work with Debbie on our recent Kitchen renovation. Debbie Hammer is the reason we now have a gorgeous open concept new kitchen and dining area in our century home. When I started planning the renovation I knew I needed design help. Debbie was recommended by a friend who had done a similar project. From the first meeting, Debbie listened, took measurements and pictures and explained the process. She then created multiple concepts for consideration - ideas I would never have come up with myself. Her designs incorporate your needs (ie. storage, flow, colour, style, layout) and you never feel that you are being pushed in a direction that you really don't want. Debbie will be as involved as you want. She was always on time, stayed as long as was needed and when there were surprises, she was right there to help resolve the issue in a way that didn't compromise the design. She is really like a best friend with big skills! Debbie communicated directly with the contractors on my behalf and helped me source materials when I was trying to find the perfect flooring, knobs for the cabinets or fabric for the new chairs.
