Custom Designing

Custom Designing is a small building designing firm specializing in small commercial and residential buildings. Since the start of this firm, Custom Designing has either solely or in conjunction with architectural and engineering consultants designed many office and retail buildings, private residences, and apartment complexes. Custom Designing is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by David Bateman, currently employing one technician. David Bateman has over 30 years experience in building design and related fields. In the early years of him working in this field, he has been employed with architectural and engineering firms throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He returned to New Glasgow in the early 80’s to open his own designing firm, to provided quality designs for the communities in and surrounding Pictou County. Since 1996 David has been a member of the Nova Scotia Home Designers Association. As well as being a member of this association, he is the immediate past president. For the past six years David has represented the Nova Scotia Home Designers Association on the Nova Scotia Building Code Advisory Committee.
