Stamford's Collaborative Upscale Interior Design

Barbara Lewis is the principal designer at The Lewis Design Group. She has worked in the interior design industry for over 25 years . The beginnings of her interest in design began as the daughter of a master furniture craftsman. Her father’s custom furniture design business catered to the elite New York trade. A graduate from St. John’s University with a concentration in history, she completed her studies at The New York School of Interior Design. Barbara’s style can best be described as maintaining the delicate balance between current trends and ageless interiors. Her work has been featured in Newsday, and the special interest publications of Better Homes and Gardens including their special interest magazines of Windows and Walls, and Bedrooms. Barbara has been a collaborator in design show houses including Greenwich, Rye, Brookville, and Locust Valley. Her recent project in Lake George was shown on American Homebuilders TV show. Barbara gathers her inspiration from art, architecture and her travels throughout Europe. As a member of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art, the integration of architectural and design style widens her unique ability to blend American, European, and Classical influences. In close collaboration with the client, Barbara is able to define the style of her client’s vision whether it be classical, transitional, or contemporary.
