Respuesta a: shiplap isn't expensive IF you know how to do it. buying pre-cut shiplap pieces at home depot is expensive. buying a piece of plywood and ripping your own shiplap boards is cheaper. buying pine flooring in 6' lengths from LumberLiquidators for $2.50 a sq foot is super cheap! I did the latter in a trailer they're unfinished. all you need to do is shallac or prime them, and paint them. it's a tongue and groove, so all you need to do is find your level starting point on the wall (use a laser level) and nail them or use a construction adhesive to your wall. You and a friend could knock it out in a half day. Maybe you just want to do that one kitchen wall, and include the backsplash w/this. (get something else for behind the stove) I would do this wall and wrap it around. since your stove has a backsplash guard, you could still use the shiplap to the fridge. but, if it's an issue, get a piece of stainless steel cut, or use some tiles and do a square above the stove area. I would pry off the 5" granite backsplash piece. it will look better and be easier to cut and trim at the countertop level. that piece is easy to pry off the wall w/a small crowbar. watch a video on how to do it and, you could do your peninsula w/it. trim out the edges w/MDF trim pieces or trim molding. you could still do your mirror window above the sink https://www.theprairiehomestead.com/2018/05/diy-shiplap-backsplash-kitchen.html https://www.dododsondesigns.com/diy-shiplap-kitchen-backsplash/

Respuesta a: make sure you read that link from Evo of Style on how to paint. also, mark the hinges w/numbers so you know where each door belongs. you don't want to mix those up or they won't close properly. also, do not use regular latex paint. it's not meant for wood. You want a good wood trim paint that's a hybrid. BM Advance, SW ProClassic, Cabinet Coat, or any of the others that say "wood or cabinet paint" for your primer, use a good oil base like zinnser. Respuesta a: You cannot expect one white to work throughout a house with different exposures. Let’s start with your dining room, facing North, which gets a gray/blue/cold influence. In that room I would do B.M. Simply White. OK, it is a perfect white for that room, but all rooms don’t get the same light. My thought is to pick a white trim color/ceilings throughout the house: B.M. Chantilly Lace. For all the walls, B.M. Collingwood, a warm off white, yet gives a hint of cool gray when needed to cool off a South or West facing room: a chameleon.

Respuesta a: I came across this white kitchen in Tuscany on AD's IG. It is indeed a white kitchen, but it does not resemble every other project we see here. White kitchens were not the point of the question posed. The issue was about a cookie cutter approach to design. This kitchen reminds me a bit of Allison's current kitchen and Nini's gorgeous white kitchen.
