Thank you for your inquiry. This is a custom stain using Miniwax Special Walnut as the primary stain color with some on site adjustments.
Hi There, I am happy to help you. It is rifted, quarter sawn white oak that is clear (has no knots). It was stained with Minwax Antique Brown and was finished with 3 coats of a Swedish Finish (this is toxic and should be done by a professional). Good luck with your new house. That is so exciting! 6/20/12 This is Minwax "Special Walnut" #224 on a red oak floor. Tom
flowergirl3, the oil based sealer is applied to bring out the natural color of the wood and you would use 2 coats of a water based urethane over that to protect it. With this said, I'm pretty sure that this finish is actually Minwax Golden Oak Stain with 2 coats of a satin waterbased urethane over top. There are other finishes that you can select - we offer an all natural, voc free, flax based finish that is applied in a single coat. It just allows the wood to be itself, no other coats necessary. Feel free to call us about it. 888-548-7609 or email to kdurning@kdwoodscompany.com. Thanks for the question, Karen.

Hello, thank you for your inquiry! The floors are White Oak in Minwax - Special Walnut. We always test a sample first since all wood types take stain differently.
Emily, the stain was a custom blend that is close to some of the standard "walnut" colored stains on the market.
5/26/14 Hi thanks for inquiring. The red oak floors really came out beautiful in this project. The stain brand and color is Duraseal Ebony.
22/16 Hi there, This was an oil-based product.(Minwax, 'Special Walnut' #224) It's on 2-1/4" red oak flooring. Hope that helps! Best, Jereme Smith, ALA Owner, Design Insight Inc
The hardwood flooring is White Oak with Puritan Pine Stain
I have red oak floors in my house. We just finished a new house. My floors look exactly like this. I can tell you the exact formula of mine. It was 2 parts of Early American ( by Minwax) mixed with 1 part Gunstock ( by Minwax) you could mix this up and test it on a piece of wood, and see if you like it.
ended up going with Minwax Golden Pecan floor stain after trying about 8 different stain color samples. After applying the stain we used 2 coats of semi gloss polyurethane (buffing between coats) and mixed in a little Minwax Colonial Maple color to tint it even more. The wood is 2 1/4 X 3/4 unfinished Red Oak.
