12/10_4: I am partial to the way the buffet is framed in by the wall (or perhaps side cabinets), with recessed/canned lights.
12/10: The lack of hardware on these cabinets is appealing for any cabinetry we may have in/near the dining buffet.
I like the combination of standing items, wall-hanging items, and ceiling-hanging items in this recessed buffet space.
Optional open shelves in the buffet, and optional hanging lights versus recessed. Would probably depend on dining room light fixture. Recessed preferred.

12/10: I like the wood beams instead of moulding at ceiling. (Too heavy for our ceilings/height?)
Interesting arrangement as an alternative to a mural, mirror, or art piece. Like the color wall accent.
Consider the dining room chandelier or other hanging lighting in the overall arrangement, with the buffet as part of the backdrop.
A mural in the buffet backdrop, something bold and statement-making, or something more framing around the edges for a center placed mirror.
