I really like this room and the feel of it. It feels organized with clean lines, which provides me with calm I think, and I like the nature feel. Overall too dark, don't love the color palate and don't like the rug but get it in this space. I don't like the color palate--there's too much yellow undertone, especially in the center of the coffee table. Don't like the ceiling light in the doorway/entry
I like this for breakfast room. Tim actually agrees and likes it too!! Really liking this table again!
I like this (-for my way in the future redo of dining room now that I'm learning what I actually like). Tim says this is a big okay for him and that he doesn't like the holes. I think they add a little character. Table might be a bit too chunky looking now that I'm looking again.
I like this. Feels "homie." Tim just said it looks like a desk leftover from a 1920s school house haha
Even though this is totally different style from the table I just liked, I think this is attractive, too, in a different way. Tim likes this style much better
This looks kinda cool. Tim says it's too clunky looking. Nevermind..I agree..way too clunky
I like this. Tim at first glance doesn't Kiel this but is having a hard time just looking at these random pieces I'm showing him without knowing the context.
This mirror is kinda cool. Tim just proclaimed he hates ALL mirrors that are circles. He says they feel too old fashion for him. He says this is because he went into too many "gaudy Jewish" rooms decorated in the 1970s on Statin Island growing up and they all had circular mirrors. So mirrors that are circles are definitely out apparently ;)
I've seen a lot of these types of circles, especially around mirrors, and I don't like them. Maybe they feel boring or .. youthful ? Not sure just dont like them. Tim agrees he hates the circle mirrors depicted but doesn't even think a young person should have them. He doesn't think anyone should...in case you were wondering.
I don't like this at all. It gives me a retro 70s vibe, which I hate. Don't like the color or how it makes me feel. Not interesting or calming. Kind of makes me anxious. I feel like it's going to walk across the room and get me. Yes I'm being dramatic. I know it's just a lamp.
Kinda like these couches. Don't like the top of the curtains at all. What is that silver round thing and why?? yuck. Don't like the coffee table. Don't like the area rug--looks like room carpet.
That couch is hideous! Looks like felt from the 1970s...I'm sure I have no idea what I'm talking about. Don't like it. Of course color palate of furniture looks drab and too dark for me. Wood design on the table top of the coffee table looks kinda cool but don't like the color--and feel of table might be too masculine/man cave. Hate the rug yuck.
Don't like this. Feels boring, a little stale and a little cold. Hate the light fixture. This seems contemporary? So maybe I only like contemporary in million dollar homes looking over oceans. Tim says he really doesn't like the couch and the room overall doesn't do much for him.
Love this rustic zen as long as I had that view out the window!! Of course for our living room, art and patterns are a way too rustic or whatever they are, but like that idea of rustic zen. I also like how the couch isn't like an overstuffed L shaped big couch. It looks a touch cleaner. Also think that table behind the couch is kinda cool/different. Tim does not like the table. I asked him if he liked anything about this room. He replied, "the fact that I don't live in it."
Maybe if I had a gigantic mansion, I'd actually like more contemporary styles. Something about this types of living rooms gives me a sense of calm and peace. Tim does NOT like this. He says it makes him feel closed in just looking at it.
This room is neat. Might get sick of the painted blue, but like looking at this room. Cabinets may be a little too rustic? or country? feel for commitment in our home. Don't absolutely love color and artwork piece, but it looks super cool in this room and with the blue. Also think it's neat that it's 3D. Tim says the blue doors are a little weird and he wouldn't like it everyday.
super cool if I could just move in. Tim really likes this too!
Something about this I like, but overall too dark and masculine. I don't think I like dark or rod iron in light fixtures the more I'm looking at stuff. Tim says there is nothing about this room he likes at all, but he particularly hates the light fixture.
Like how some things are interesting like the lamps, couch and coffee table all together. I would normally think the couch is too formal looking or ornate or something, but it's interesting in this space. I like the kitchen in back. Do not like the rug, but I see how it makes sense in this space. Overall I think this living room is too ornate for me. I also think I may like a ceiling light that looks good over a ceiling fan. Tim says this room is way too busy. Overall too ornate. He does not like couches like this--too ornate. He says he doesn't understand the coffee table either.
Overall I like it..pretty and light. I like the palate. I also like how calm it is and smooth lines without being boring or cold. Light fixture seems like it could be a little more interesting. Tim says he likes this but thinks it's a little too washed out--he'd like it better if there was a little color in it somewhere like in the art or something.
Hate everything. Someone paid for this design?? Maybe I don't need to save so many I hate...I'm sure you get what I don't like by now haha
Is this more of a contemporary house? Spaces like these make me feel calm--maybe it's the giant windows and openness--like my favorite living room of all time listed above. I still think a lot of contemporary stuff is too modern, but I like some aspects. Maybe I should keep this in mind when I become a millionaire and can overlook a beautiful body of water like this ;)
ummm...NO.
Feels balanced but a bit boring overall. Wall color feels soft and calm. Don't like the chairs by the fireplace. Don't love the lamps but like the texture they have and how they look with that area rug. That rug looks good in this space. I don't think I like those couches--don't really like the material or overstuffed look I think? But maybe such a style in our living room would be fine? I don't know. Don't love the blue couches and how that's the main color pop. I'm thinking back to what you said about more of a neutral palate and having accessories provide color. I like that for future change/adapting but also realize I don't like blue couches haha
I like this -- cool stone (love the stone!) and I like succulents
I hate this. No shaggy dogs or other animals please
I like this for "texture." Tim says " well, what would you do with it? What goes in it? Can it have a color?" I told him some things are for looks and not everything has to hold something. He responded with "I want a plant. I want a plant that's kind of like a tree in the room." Okaaaay
This is beautiful. I like crystal a lot when it's more subtly designed like this or even a little more detailed. I prefer it when it's not uber traditional looking
I like this--seems interesting and adds "texture" I like
I like this kitchen! OMG what was I thinking when we moved in here. (I still love the other kitchen more that I saved. The other one seems more interesting and more my overall style. I think I don't like the "shaker" style as this pic was described. I like better the subtle warmth the other kitchen brought with the green in the greys and warmer lighting. This feels a touch colder with grays/whites) I like how light and bright it is. Like the color palate, how the whole room fits together Tim says, "I don't hate it, but I'm not wowed."
I really like this room. Interesting--of course chairs are way too formal for me, and this room is surely too dramatic for Tim...but I love something about how that cool looking wood table is integrated but that the rest of the room gives a different feel than like a large picnic table. Well mixed I think in interesting way. I also like the color of the wood, floors and the dresser in back in this space. Seems like some "rustic touches" mixed with formal transitional?? I dont know the words. I really like the dresser with the mirror and the artwork on both sides and how it is sort of contrasted by the chairs and light fixture to give a more modern and formal feel so not too overall rustic. Hard to see the art work exactly but seems like a tactful nod at nature. Tim says this room feels too industrial or like a conference room feel...maybe due to light fixture and Windows? He thinks chairs are too formal.
I like these
I like this
I like this--Subtle enough--feels more like texture than the kind of patterned stuff I don't like
I think the stools look neat in this space and I like this shade of blue color
I don't know how I got on this, and it's clearly not for the living room...I just really like it and think it's so pretty. I'm kind of obsessed with it.
Do NOT like the coffee table and the patterned shades. This room feels boring and sterile.
Hate the palate and pattern on the curtains. Dont like the feel of this room. Everything about it is not my style. (Tim agrees)
I hate everything in this haha! I hate the art, the frames on the art, the color and material of the couch, the coffee table feels too country rustic, HATE the striped chairs, hate the light fixture, hate the palate. Not a fan of the windows in this room either. Wow...really hate it.
Even though I've never been a huge fan of purple, I think this room looks so amazing, interesting, inviting and just plain cool Kristen, I'm glad you like this room! The paint color is actually a dark grey. The reason it looks a little purple is because my client gets a lot of cold light on that side of her house which subsequently changed the color of the space during certain hours of the day. Interesting, right? Oh, wow, very interesting. I'm in love with this room! I'm so impressed you are the designer and feel so lucky you are working with us. You are so talented!
I LOVE this kitchen! It seems like warm feel, inviting yet light with really neat colors! Love the pendant light fixtures-- interesting and warm/inviting--with the granite and amazing island and cabinets colors. Just awesome! Kind of obsessed with this--can this be my kitchen?! (Tim agrees and loves this and is actually excited about paining the kitchen cabinets for the first time ha!)
Love the hidden organization and functionality!
My initial thought is what a cool space!! LOVE THIS! Can I move in?This is by far my most favorite living room. I love the furniture, color palate, fireplace, colorful and beautiful nature art looks awesome. Love the flow of the rooms too without being too much of the same--like the addition of curtains, etc in the dining room and still flows with this room. These accessories add the bit of "rustic" nature appreciation we like without feeling too country rustic. I like the warmth, too, with great colors in the main room. I keep coming back to this photo. I love the pop of color of the nature art piece above the fireplace and love the color palate of walls/furniture/accessories and the way the room is laid out. The fireplace is bada$$. Also really like the furniture-- not too dramatic but is still interesting. (Tim loves this space, too, including the palate, the feel and the furniture.)
I HATE this color palate. Way too beige, tan and brown, and my eye picks up that warm/yellowish undertone I hate in some of the colors. HATE the rug. Also stone wall height seems ridiculous and feels like a hotel lobby in Denver, CO. Pretty much hate everything about this space. (Tim agrees)
The color palate is attractive. The area rug is tolerable/ okay--at least it's not to geometric shapes or blocks of color. I like that the furniture looks comfortable and not too traditional
Something attracted me to this picture. Maybe the color palate and textures in the look. But it feels too traditional married with too much rustic I think. I also don't like how the dark wood on the ceiling sticks out.
I like the nature in art and repetition of the trees on my eye with the depth in the picture makes it more interesting. Colors feel too drab and depressing (Tim agrees--likes nature but this painting is depressing)
Love this! I really like the color palate, especially the color of the cabinets, and subtle drama making it interesting. I am surprised how much I like this. I think the whole look, colors, ceiling and light fixture with the glass just looks so cool! Love it, kind of obsessed and wish this was my giant bathroom haha!! (Tim actually agrees, especially about the the color palate)
I like the white cabinets/shelving and glass windows in the mix. A touch too much on the traditional side for me overall?... Maybe a little too much green overall too by walls being that color. The more I see this, the more I don't like the green color on the walls. Maybe too much yellow undertone and not enough gray or blue undertone? Reminds me of moss and bleh. (Tim agrees)
I like the over all look, feels calm and smooth. Like the palate for the entry way. But..a little too smooth and a touch cold for me (Tim says this looks too much like a museum)
