JGL- Very pretty, clean and classic. We both like the look of this space very much.

JGL- This is pretty relevant in terms of layout- ceiling design, placement of dining table, etc. I probably want seating at our bar, but I like the look of this kitchen. This outer bar has a wine chiller- perhaps something to consider with more storage in the back kitchen. We could also put the ice machine in the outer island and actually set our bar/alcohol storage there, given we are not planning for a separate bar area.

JGL- I also like this bar. Single-height, good seating, storage at the ends. I think the microwave drawer is in the bar, which is probably a good idea.

JGL- I do kind of like the wood top on the bar.

JGL- Curved front on the bar is kind of interesting, although I'm not sure it fits, design-wise.

JGL- I like the butcher block on the inner island, but it's probably impractical to cover that large an area with it. I would like to have some butcher block at ideal working height on the inner island, or possibly a cutout to drop a Boos block into. I also think there may be an induction module hiding in the inner island, just across from the prep sink.

JGL- I know we don't really like our existing 'dual height' island, but this is kind of interesting. I also like the light fixtures over the inner island.

JGL- I think I prefer the 'stacked' islands, over the tandem arrangement. This adds more seating, but I don't think it adds efficiency to the 'cooking line'.

JGL- Very different from an esthetic perspective, but layout is relevant, even including ceiling height. Adding a contracting countertop on the outer island could also be interesting, although I'm not sure I like this one.

JGL- Another relevant comp, in terms of layout. The cabinetry surrounding the range is a little monolithic, but I'm warming to the idea of 2 islands. I think it could fill in what might be a lot of dead space on the kitchen floor, otherwise. 5 or 6 seats at the outer island would be better than 4.

JGL- Very relevant comparable to the layout of our new kitchen, other than the ceiling height. Sink, range, and refrigerator in roughly the same places. I like the fact that the 'inner' island creates a galley with an efficient work triangle from range-sink-fridge.
