Raised edge of peninsula. Like that the counter wraps down the side of counter to floor. Prefer white counter and wood under peninsula.

get fridge with cabinet fronts, could do this with laundry closet. Wouldn’t need surround wood just laundry door and front face of fridge. So fridge could still slide out to access washer/dryer connections behind

Similar layout. Could we extend peninsula a bit (where counter currently overhangs) to add tall skinny cutting board/baking sheet cupboard on end?
