Proportion- The picture hanging on the wall is the perfect size to not take up too much space, but still be a focal point of the room. There are two smaller couches below the picture in comparison with the larger couch across the room. The windows are still larger than the picture, which helps it fit better in the space. The ceilings are tall which allows the picture to be longer, but still proportionate.
Asymmetrical Balance - This design has a asymmetrical balance. Even though each side of the room isn't completely the same. The visual weight is the same on each side. The different colors add variety and help balance the room also. The dark blue is heavier than the cream so although there are two chairs on one side, it is balanced because the chair on the other side is a dark blue.
Texture- This room design features mostly rustic textures. The textures being used are brick, wood and softer textures from the rug and couches. The wood brings a more casual feel but does not make the room warmer because of the bright colors. The main point of the room is the fireplace, which has a light stone texture. The texture ties in the room and gives it more depth with the large windows and high ceilings.
Harmony-The pieces of furniture and accessories are harmonious in this picture. There is a variety in the shades of grey, white, and black. They are all in a monochromatic color scheme. The fireplace adds a small pop of color, but it fits well into the space..
