Katie & Rob Spee
K: every time this photo comes across our radar, we are drawn to it. Most of it, if not exactly, is pretty close to what we are envisioning. The cabinets, floor, beams, wood on ceiling, windows, colors (like how they reflect what outside the windows) are all what we're looking for. Even furniture is in the right direction. Not huge fans of exposed bulbs, though those fixtures are pretty. Counter top looks like Cambria. We can consider something like this in engineered quartz. Fireplace is more modern than what we're picturing.
Katie: I think the overall impression / feel / colors / textures are in keeping with what we are picturing. Do you think it would work with white / off-white painted built-ins, rather than stained? I like the lighter, neutral rug. Helps it feel light and relaxing. This is probably more ornate / detailed (mantel, in particular) than we pictured. Is the floor a little more gold than we are picturing?
Baking storage but is it functional? Katie: good question, not sure it would be without counter top around it on which to set ingredients, etc. It would be best if it raised up to be right along side a stretch of counter, near the sink. I guess I'd picture storing mine in the pantry, along with other small appliances.
Katie: this color scheme and overall feel are closer to what we are picturing. Like the recommendation to keep the counter level across, makes so much sense! We would like to position sconces along side the mirrors, like picture here, rather than mounting them above. This mirror framing is a bit heavy for us.
K: This is really pretty. Cabinet style is exact. Color is really nice. Brass knobs and fixtures are nice, as long as they're matte. Rob doesn't love the lucite handles, maybe a different handle. The farmhouse sink looks nice. From what I can see of the floor, it may be grayish tan ceramic wood look tiles? It goes well with the rest of the design. Backsplash is not quite right for us. Maybe too ornate? Too shiny and small? Reminds me of fish scales.
