My ideas
Nice cabinets, nice island. I was thinking that I probably do not want "little tiles" behind the stove. Rick makes a mess when he cooks (i.e., red sauce all over the place). So having one smooth surface to clean is best. With tiles you get red stains in the grout. Found lights by Fizz similar to the ones I thought of for the chandelier that go over an island like this.
We will need a sofa. The sofa will be one of the most important furniture purchases. It will need to look nice, but also be comfortable so that both Rick and I can fall asleep on it. We currently have a white leather sofa that is very uncomfortable but look gorgeous. We are not bringing it with us because we want "comfort". We looked at some fabric sofa's and they were so much more comfortable that the leather. (The design was also different...)
I like these bar stools because of the square bottom. The back of the chair needs to be higher or Rick will not be comfortable sitting in them. I used to have white ones that were similar to these.
Colors are OK, but this is not really that modern looking
I am not putting this in for design ideas. I am putting it in because it looks like a similar footprint as our master bathroom. Having this will help me "envision" what things will look like.
For the upstairs bathroom? Frameless glass doors?
I am only putting this in because it was described as "quietly elegant". Those are the words I would like for someone to use to overall describe this renovation. Of course with a certain look, but that should be the overall "feel".
I am putting this in here because those brown door frames do not "go with" this bathroom...etc. This just screams out to me that something is wrong.
Possible idea for the upstairs bathroom. Have a tub, but have this kind of door on it. Question: How hard would this be to keep clean?
This has a very go together look.. Not too much of anything.
I like that wall in the bathroom. I don't know what I like about it but I think it is just the right amount of "busy" for this bathroom. I also find the colors pleasing...
Not sending for any design reason, but noticed that this person uses towels to bring color into their bathrooms. I do the same thing.
Not bad
I like the toilet paper handler. (I think)
So what is your opinion on the toilet bowls that don't go to the ground? Are these as "strong"? I think I would like them because it would be much easier to clean under them. Rick was also thinking of a "one unit" toilet bowl. All of this said -- we need to make sure we get something that doesn't clog! :)
OK, this is really nice. Not "too much" sensory overload. I would not have green flowers here, I would have something with a little more color.
I am putting this in because I am OK with these blue's and grey's. However, if I was doing this I would not have the brown furniture and would have pulled more of the blue tones into the accessories. I also am putting this in because of the concept of putting a larger picture of "something" on the big wall in the great room...
This is OK. Wanted to mention that I am OK with no door handles...
Not bad. A little too much with the shower walls...
No, no, no, no, no...... and a 1,000 more no's!
I am putting this in because I like for things to "match" but this would be an example of "too much" matching for me.
I am putting this in because we will need benches in the shower. (I shave my legs in the shower. Also, good to have a place to sit when you get older.... :)
Nice look... Where is the drain in the shower? Are the floors practical?
This is not bad, except that I would not have "tiles" above the splash board -- I would much rather have mirrors...
I like this look and colors, but this is almost "too busy" for me with the walls.
I like the minimalist look, but this is "too much" of the Scandinavian concept
I put this in because it was in Summerlin South. ALso because it had cooler colors. I also saw the little windows and was thinking maybe have these in the bathroom? However, would want to know if they were practical...etc.
I like the white theme. However, don't like the gold accents. I would have used silver.
I like the "hanging" cabinets. I think something like this might go on the big wall in our great room. Why I was thinking this is because when you come in the front door what you see is going to be that wall. I was thinking that maybe a hanging cabinet and a large painting above it that would "pop" with color. Then since almost everything in the great room and the kitchen would be white the colors on the wall could be used for accent stuff. I like the hanging cabinets because it would also be easy to clean under. I am thinking all white for the great room and the kitchen with the color coming from a painting. Then if I decided I wanted a different color you could get a different painting and then use those new colors as accents...
This has been one of the best pictures of a Kitchen for me. Like the "white look". Like the high gloss backboard instead of stone/tile because it will be easier to clean and I won't have to worry about stains in the grout.. Like the skinny handles. Not sure how this would look with the current floor. If I have a pattern on my floor I would have a tendency to not want a pattern on that thing in the middle of the kitchen (can't remember what it is called). Don't like the apples - I am not a fan of green.
Was thinking of taking out the butler pantry and the shelf and putting in a large closet for my mops, vaccum cleaner, rags, cleaning supplies...etc. I am saving this picture just as a reminder that I need a place for my mops, vaccum....etc.
I have this roll out garbage in the kitchen and like it. It also is of the right size to have extra garbage bags.
This light looks very similar to the one that I found that I thought might look good over the dining room table.
What do you think of these for our stairs?
We wanted to see about taking out the cabinets on the second floor and turning that area into a small gym. Not sure we have the space. We were thinking an eliptical and a bike - maybe putting them at an angle with a TV on the wall and little triagle units in the corners to store "gym stuff". Just an idea to discuss.
Just saved this because we are thinking about having the closet upstairs in the smaller bedroom changed into a storage closet. Also did not want the "mirror doors" on the closet. So, this picture is just to talk about changing the closet in that room.
Light for the dining area
I found a Fizz light that I thought "might" work in the entrance way. I could not find it on Houzz so below is the link. I like these because they are square (and I thought it might look cool in the entrance way). https://www.lamps.com/et2-e22769-89pc-fizz-iii-9-light-polished-chrome-led-pendant?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvo_qBRDQARIsAE-bsH8QJmSZHQzXYgAkFYBBDWqjBFVtbgkf1-kiCYb5P-ux_Dqp8JLyOKUaAgVKEALw_wcB
Maybe the small bathroom upstairs....
This zigzag bedroom chest looked interesting... They had a whole bedroom set. Below is hopefully the link to the entire bedroom. https://www.houzz.com/products/spain-white-modern-zigzag-5-drawer-bedroom-chest-prvw-vr~91777743
This has been one of my favorites for the kitchen... I keep coming back to this. This also may be an ides for combining the dining room and kitchen. I also like the molding, like the cabinets, like the flat stove, like the oven and microwave combo... Like so, much of this. (Don't like the chairs. They look like they belong outside on a patio, not in this kitchen.)
