Please look at his picture. The concept really intrigues me for a number of reasons. I like the L shape giving kitchen a tad more privacy. I like the seating area on the side of the dining and bar. I like the wood area area on opposite side so that Chuck and I could have dinner and have tv on. I like the mix of wood. Light and dark. I like the asymmetry.

I'm am adding this photo because it gives you the feel I am looking for in the Keeping room. that is why I want the windows lower. Also, I really want an that chair somewhere the house.

I am really perplexed about color. I know I ideally want the exterior of the house to be a deep brown/almost black color, I think a bright door would be fun. I am attracted to chartreuse, eggplant, rust, burgundy, tourquoise/

The door I like. Though, I am up for thinking about it being a color depending on colors in the house and the house exterior. Perhaps a hit of color in an otherwise natural stained house would be fun.

Back to the keeping room bookshelf. I don't want anything like this, but I am thinking what if one small part of it was a pull down shelf for me to sit at and write.

I am drawn to the color of this stone, and like that it has smaller bits of darker color.

I like this for the keeping room. I like that the shelves are different sizes to accommodate books and art, and that there is light. Drawers could be added in a stylized way.
