Floor

I like all of this. The only drawback to built-in bookshelves is that you lose a lot of flexibility with furniture placement. And I love changing layout frequently.

Dark, rich floor. Adds such comfort to the white!

On the other hand, a lighter floor soaks in and reflects the light so that even smaller windows are adequate.

Dark floor creates a warmth that offsets even stark / modern furniture

I love either really dark floor, or really light floor. This is a nice contrast with the white.
