Master Bath Remodel
The concept behind this master bathroom remodel was to take the American colonial home, which was built in the 80’s, and update it with modern amenities. With the clients eager to let go of the then high end wall covering, my mission was to provide my client with a contemporary yet warm, tranquil bathroom with ample storage and spaciousness. I started by removing the tub and creating a tiled walk
in shower using a mix of warm and contemporary tiles. The field tile in earth tones of taupe and cream provides depth and movement, while the clear, colored and frosted glass banded with a caramel bamboo inspired mosaic tile provides texture, drama and interest. Finished with a contemporary shower panel and glass enclosure, the wash area was enlarged by 8 inches in width. The vanity area was as important as the shower area. The client’s old vanity height was uncomfortably short and the storage area needed solutions to organize toiletries. The new vanity has not only a comfortable height, but above the deep drawers you can see a cream & honey onyx marble top with a wood grained glass vessel bowl. Simply a stunning piece! I also wanted to provide the client with ample storage, so I finished a large recessed medicine cabinet with artwork, an unexpected and unsuspecting way to conceal additional toiletries.
