The appeal of this kitchen lies in the cabinet style and old English country styling. Each element has been carefully selected to create a subtle traditional influence rather than heavily detailed. The built in mantle and chimney still allows for practical movement of pots and plates around the hot plate area; always maintaining efficient practicality.
The non-active finial hinges combined with rails and posts enhance the traditional style but in contrast are the unlikely use of mirror kick. This places more emphasis on the posts, giving them true meaning in the kitchen to suggest that they alone are supporting the cabinetry. Corian has been used on the bench tops with a cove up stand to match; this is a striking visual element as well as an easy to use and clean surface.
The cabinets and island bar display the simple country style and this in combination with the stop champers post and simple corner brackets conveys a pleasing look of country sophistication.
