The couple are huge traditionalist, so Astro chose a detailing in the frame that evokes a very classic feel, and beautiful detail. The darker island was chosen to break the cappuccino-coloured perimeter cabinetry up from being all uniform. This classic stained walnut island is in the centre of the kitchen - stands out, yet doesn’t draw attention away from the beautiful stove wall. That detailing added an extra personal touch to the backsplash and a bit of old world charm.
BRADSHAW DESIGNS LLCThis Award-winning kitchen proves vintage doesn't have to look old and tired. This previously dark kitchen was updated with white, gold, and wood in the historic district of Monte Vista. The challenge is making a new kitchen look and feel like it belongs in a charming older home. The highlight and starting point is the original hex tile flooring in white and gold. It was in excellent condition and merely needed a good cleaning. The addition of white calacatta marble, white subway tile, walnut wood counters, brass and gold accents keep the charm intact. Cabinet panels mimic original door panels found in other areas of the home. Custom coffee storage is a modern bonus! Sub-Zero Refrig, Rohl sink, brass woven wire grille.

Dillons Kitchens & BedroomsBespoke solid ash cabinetry with oak internals, dovetail drawers and subtle decorative beaded door detail – handpainted in Light Grey with Lava on the island. The cabinetry has been designed to look as though it’s part of the room’s architecture with the ceiling coving around the top of the cabinets to make it look as though the kitchen has always been there. NYKBThis galley style kitchen makes maximum use of the limited space available. The white cabinetry, backsplash and counters give the room an illusion of space, while the dark floor adds the perfect amount of contrast and sophistication. Two bar stools are ingeniously incorporated against a counter overlooking the kitchen.
Chi Renovation & DesignA retro 1950’s kitchen featuring green custom colored cabinets with glass door mounts, under cabinet lighting, pull-out drawers, and Lazy Susans. To contrast with the green we added in red window treatments, a toaster oven, and other small red polka dot accessories. A few final touches we made include a retro fridge, retro oven, retro dishwasher, an apron sink, light quartz countertops, a white subway tile backsplash, and retro tile flooring.

UserThe original kitchen was dark, dingy and dated! With the criteria given, we transformed this space into a bright uplifting and family friendly space. We retained the original kitchen footprint and kept plumbing and electrical in the same locations for budgetary considerations.
The kitchen was redesigned with entertaining in mind. From custom two-toned cabinetry to sophisticated banquette seating, we re-imagined a bright space with a new personality reaping the benefits of the influx of natural light from the double height windows in the adjacent great room.
From the calcutta marble tile backsplash, caesarstone counter tops and porcelain tile floors, this updated kitchen provided my clients with their dream kitchen …a bright white entertainers delight.

Crystal Kitchen + BathTying multiple floors together using 6”x36” dark grey wood-looking tile, laid on a staggered patterned worked well with the tile and concrete floors next to it.
Two-toned cabinetry of wired brushed hickory with a grey stain wash, combined with maple wood in a dark slate finish is a current trend.
Counter tops: combination of splashy granite and white Caesarstone grounded the display. A custom-designed table of ash wood, with heavy distressing and grey washed stain added warmth.

Unique Features: drawer in drawer for pot lids, pull out drawer in toe kick for dog dishes, toe space step stool, swing up mixer shelf, pull out spice storage.
Built in Banquette seating with table and docking station for family meals and working.
Custom open shelves and wine rack with detailed legs anchor the three sides of the island.
Backsplash rail with spice rack, knife and utensil holder add more storage space.
A floating soffit matches the shape of island and helps lower the showroom ceiling height to what would be found in a normal home. It includes: pendant lights for the snack bar, chandelier for the table and recess for task lights over the sink.
The large triangular shaped island has eleven foot legs. It fills the unusual space and creates three separate areas: a work space, snack bar/room divider and table area.
