This living room had been a bonus room over the garage and was unfinished when we were brought in. We added the shelving, first removing an enormous built in closet which was unused. The beautiful built-ins have lights in each cubbyhole which then highlighted the owner's collection of carved birds & animals. We also added ceiling lights. All the lighting can be dimmed for special effects. Ahead of our time, we chose a pretty purple color to paint the walls to soften the more stark contemporary furniture. It turned out that Radiant Orchid would become 2014's Pantone Color of the Year!
