Simmonds & Associates, Inc.This property has a wonderful juxtaposition of modern and traditional elements, which are unified by a natural planting scheme. Although the house is traditional, the client desired some contemporary elements, enabling us to introduce rusted steel fences and arbors, black granite for the barbeque counter, and black African slate for the main terrace. An existing brick retaining wall was saved and forms the backdrop for a long fountain with two stone water sources. Almost an acre in size, the property has several destinations. A winding set of steps takes the visitor up the hill to a redwood hot tub, set in a deck amongst walls and stone pillars, overlooking the property. Another winding path takes the visitor to the arbor at the end of the property, furnished with Emu chaises, with relaxing views back to the house, and easy access to the adjacent vegetable garden.

Quarry MillCoastline thin stone veneer from the Quarry Mill gives this tranquil pool and spa character. Coastline is a natural New England cobblestone. The pieces of natural stone veneer come in various colors, shapes and sizes. Coastline has a weathered and naturally rough texture with mainly earth tones. This thin stone veneer is a great fit on lake houses or coastal homes. Stones of this style can also be referred to as boulders or round side out stone. Coastline is unique because it is not a quarried stone by rather a natural fieldstone. Cobblestones can be used for both interior and exterior applications and are well suited for both large and small projects. For masons who are comfortable with and have experience installing cobblestones, they typically go quickly and have a medium to low installation cost.

Neptune Swimming PoolsWe collaborated with Visioneer builders and Rob Mills Architects on this unique pool for a luxurious Toorak home.
The pool was located in the front garden, facing the road and therefore created a new challenge for our design team. This project features a rounded pool and separate round spa with luxurious finishes that act as an additional feature to the landscape. The unique sphere shaped plants surrounding the pool creates a contrast that adds dimension and colour to the relatively neutral colour palette, whilst also keeping the rounded shape that aligns with the pool and spa.
Because this is a family home, additional inclusions were considered as part of the design process, this ensures that the space not only had amazing visual features, but practical safety elements meaning that access can be more carefully controlled.
The denim penny round tiles further complimented the sphere theme of the project and provided a unique look to the space. The light colour also created a stark contrast between the greenery of the shrubs and the neutral colours of the home and surrounding Eco Outdoor Granite coping.
