Fingal Street #2
The opportunity to remodel another house in this Victorian street in Greenwich gave us an insight into how much difference there can be in the layout of a terrace of houses.
While we have worked on several of these houses, the internal layout of the rear section of this house was quite different to other houses we have experience of in Fingal Street; however, this didn't deter us from remodelling it to provide a kitchen and dining space for our clients which connected with the garden. Existing sewer chambers on the site boundary meant that the original design had to be adjusted, but this enabled a split elevation with a full height window bringing natural light deep into the kitchen.
A unique lifting staircase has enabled access to the storage area under the house, which otherwise would have been lost.
