Bespoke wall to wall display unit
This stylish, high end bespoke wall to wall display and storage unit was designed and installed for our clients’ residence in Esher, Surrey. They had been thrilled with the customised furniture Acorn Bespoke Carpentry and Joinery had created for them before and so naturally came to us for their new built-in cabinets. We tailored every aspect of the cabinetry to meet their exact specifications and the impressive design has brought structure and style to the space and has transformed the whole room.
Custom-made for display and storage
Each of our bespoke commissions starts with exploring and developing ideas so we can understand exactly what you want to achieve. For this particular piece of bespoke fitted furniture, our clients wanted display areas for their treasured curious with a range of customised closed storage options. The large built-in floor to ceiling unit maximises storage while also minimising floor space. It makes a stunning gallery statement while also feeling like a seamless part of the room. The closed cupboards and drawers at the bottom with open display shelving above is an endlessly practical and versatile layout.
Colour creates a real impact
Our clients wanted a deep blue painted finish for their bespoke unit and chose a shade called Squid Ink from Paint and Paper Library. Squid Ink is a dark elegant charcoal blue, the colour of fountain pen ink. The paint is premium quality and handcrafted in the UK and a favourite of interior designers.
Tailored lighting to highlight artworks
In a display cabinet, lighting design is important as it adds dimension and decoration, as well as illumination. In this unit we installed integrated soft LED lighting into the shelf design using the Loox system by Häfele, which we believe is the best on the market.
