The homeowners opted to keep the same kitchen layout to save money. However one can't help but to be awed at the transformation of this stark, white, drab kitchen. The simple solution of removing the soffits, proper lighting and picking the right color combinations completely transformed the stark kitchen into a crisp, warm and welcoming space.
Also note that the rug and dining room chairs are the same in the before and after pictures. The interior designer, Mary Mackmiller, has the ability to work with what the client already owns. She has the keen eye and sensibility to say what can stay and what should go to create a harmonizing look. Mary chose a new wall color, flooring, drape fabric and drape hardware for the dining room.
