Cabinet color - glazed?

I have shaker cabinets and traditional is more my cabinet style. I love the look of glazed cabinets but in order to achieve that look, i was thinking of adding trim to the drawers and cabinets to give the glaze something to "hold on to." After seeing these pictures though (picture 11 of the 14 pictures), I'm wondering if i can achieve that look just by adding glaze directly onto the flat cabinets..... I NEED HELP!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
