Are three different window coverings in one space a bad choice?

I have French doors that require some type of window dressing to manage the sun that comes into the living space. The room already has plantation shutters immediately next to the French doors and a roller blind in the kitchen window, on the same wall. Im unable to have consistency of plantation shutters on the French doors aS we require a low profile head rail. considering hanging a Duette blind. I’m conscious of three different window treatments and wonder is that too much or should we use same window treatment on French doors and kitchen window to tie them together? can’t use a roller blind on the doors as the head rail is too deep to enable our doors to fully open and not hit the plantation shutters.

    Hi Edd,

We would suggest putting a large roller blind fitted under the architrave (the highest point of the door frame/top window) to create a uniform look with the kitchen. That way the doors will still be able to operate fully and won't look too overwhelming compared to three different window solutions. You can do two linked roller blinds for each side of the door or have one large one depending on the look you're after. Having it front rolled like the kitchen roller blind will also clear the space so your base bar doesn't interfere with the handles.

Thanks for that suggestion. We had given that idea some previous consideration. The implication is the blind needs to be up each time we walk out the door and given the doors are our only back doors we’re not sold on that solution.
