after advice on window treatments

Hi lovely Houzz community, I’m after advice on window treatments. This bedroom has two windows. One is floor to ceiling, with a door that accesses a private courtyard (04 & 09). The other (10) is a casement window, about 1m from the floor. It’s for cross ventilation.

We are planning to put curtains on the large window and either honeycomb/cellular or roller blinds on the other window.

Should we try to match the curtain colour to the blind colour as closely as possible?

Or, recognising that they are never going to be a perfect match, go for a contrast?

Or should we have a roller or Roman blind made out of the curtain fabric?

Or something else altogether?

The second photo shows the intended fabric for the curtains.
Thanks in anticipation.

consider matching the blind to the wall colour or window trim and keep the curtains as the feature in the room

Depending on what else is happening in the room, I would match the blind fabric to the curtain or go for something slightly different but still tonally the same as the curtain fabric. You might find a nice stripe or small pattern or texture that complements the curtains. When you have a big wall of curtains on one side and then the blind on the other just blends into the wall colour, the room will feel unbalanced. Good luck.

How about keeping the shade on the smaller window a color that would come close to the wall color. Then you can get drapes for the large window and get a cornice on the smaller window in matching fabrics which will tie the room together. OR putting matching drapes on both windows.
