Ivy Suggestions for a privacy hedge

Is there any Ivy with a similar look to the Podocarpus henkelii? (A thin foliage that looks like a bamboo)

    The finest-textured ivy you'll find is likely English Ivy, Hedera helix. To go vertical it would need a support structure such as a wall or trellis, so wouldn't exactly be a hedge the way a shrub like Podocarpus would.

      The small-leaved "Needlepoint" English ivies that are usually sold in the house plant section of stores, are the ones with the smallest leaves.

      But I don't think anyone understands your title: using ivy as a hedge ...? It's not a plant that can make a hege, but growing on something else it could appear like a hedge.

      Ivy & hedge are 2 completely different things. Why do you want ivy to look like a hedge? If you want a hedge, why not just plant a hedge? Can you provide a little more info?

      ivy on chain link can make a great fedge. All the benefits of an impenetrable hedge but only a few inches thick. https://www.best4hedging.co.uk/blog/ivy-screens/

      Yes, I already have a support structure (chain link fence), but I need a screen solution with less depth than a Podocarpus henkelii hedge on each side of the fence.

      I used bamboo or willow screening on my chain link for privacy ...

      I, too, have seen English ivy confined on a chain link fence where it is a very architecturalistic looking green screen. Could be done with needlepoint English ivies as well as the species.

      English ivy is quite happy on a chain link fence and the bonus is it grwos fast with very little work and stays evergreen
