Experience building porch with hot tub or swim spa?

We are working on a house plan that includes a covered porch housing an 8 x 14 swim spa. Porch will also have an outdoor (gas, direct vent) fireplace that will provide increased spring and fall use.

Options for the two exterior walls....screen only, screen with vinyl curtains for wintertime, screen with window inserts. The more we close it in, greater risk of condensation and/or poor air quality, especially in the winter time. Perhaps an exhaust fan over the pool and a humidifier will be needed for air quality? None of the pool installers we have spoken with seem to know.

Any one with experience building something similar?

    Have you consulted contacting your hvac? They would probably be a good point of contact to consult with since they are the pros with hvac, dehumidifiers, commercial indoor pools, etc. Keep in mind to ask about the product being energy efficient, etc. Also, have you considered an automatic cover which would make it easy to not forget to cover the pool after each use? An automatic cover may be something to also consider to avoid the risk of condensation, etc. Good luck, and keep us posted.

    Thanks. We are at the stage of designing the plans and then we will put them out for bid. From what I understand, each builder selects their preferred HVAC partner. That makes it more difficult to consult with an HVAC person ahead of time, it they are not assured of getting the work. Options available for covers include a light weight "summer cover" and the standard trifold cover (similar to hot tub cover). There is no automatic cover for this pool per se, although we might find one that will work.
