Heating and cooling a barn venue

We are building a 2400 sq. foot barn to be used as a venue for weddings, corp. events, church events, etc. We would like some ideas or products that will move the most air with the least noise. Also, we have thought about using the patio upright type propane heaters for heating. Please give me ideas or products that you have seen successful.

Thanks for your input. However, we already have the concrete floor poured.

If you are tiling the floor you can still install radiant underfloor heating--either hot water or electric. I think propane heaters are not a good choice as they can get knocked over in party venues !!!!!

Hot water heat is quiet...but requires radiators of some type...Forced air isn't all that noisy if done the right way.

There is a new Dyson heater which is very effective at warming the air.... you might want to look into a number of these

Before using propane heaters in an enclosed space, I would definitely check with your local building codes. They are usually stricter for commercial spaces with large gatherings of people. I would not risk it myself either way.
