Is oak back in or still out?

I've seen renos where oak is showing up again. So is oak back in or is it still out.

    Ebony oak and bleached oak seem to be in- especially if it is rift cut.

      We make a lot more white oak door and drawer fronts than we have in the past 5 years. We also make more white oak drawer boxes.

      Oak kitchens are not on people's "must have" list right now. The colour and grain are "wrong" for today's trends. Even with different finishes, they have yet to be en vogue once more.

      Oak flooring is still very common, especially in a finish that reduces the orange tones in the wood.

      I've tried to sell some older oak furniture over the past few months with absolutely no takers so this confirms my thoughts that oak is still out. If you need a great antique oak dining table or oak coffee table I know where you can find them! ;-)

      I think oak is still out. That's not to say that there aren't still folks asking for it.

      What I did with my oak vanity. Painted a really dark stain, added an overlay and new hardware.
