Building an Addition for a 1920s Sears Kit Home

In short, we were asked to build a multi-floor addition onto this home in NW D.C., adding crucial living space for our client. Specifically, we added a full laundry room in the basement, a kitchen (with dining area) and pantry on the ground floor, and a master bedroom, bath, and walk-in closet upstairs.

The history of this property is quite interesting too. Originally built in the early 1920s, this is actually a kit home purchased from the Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalog for a little under $2,300.

      How amazing! You did a beautiful job. We have a 1920s bungalow that we have renovated so I loved hearing about the Sears kit. A great piece of history.
