Countertop Paints: Do They Really Work?

I've seen 'resurfacing' countertop paints for the kitchen and bathroom countertops to update a look. Do these really work or are they totally cheap and going to chip away the first time I scrub my countertops?

I don't think they're cheap, $150.00 would do only half of my countertops so I'd be looking at $300.00 for the kitchen! I guess they're cheaper than a new countertop. I painted my ugly disgusting floor tile countertop with Rustoleum's Hammered Copper paint and followed it up with two coats of clear. Cost me less than $30.00 and came out fabulous!

Giani Granite is only $70.00 and you determine how you want it to look- it's not a cookie cutter product. It can look like stone, granite or marble depending on application. I have seen several countertops done with the product and it looks amazing. I think they make cabinet paint also.
