A Tiny Sanctuary

This is one of the tiniest gardens I have designed, yet it boasts 3 tall trough planters, a large potted lemon tree, a Crepe Myrtle tree to provide afternoon shade in summer and a small birdbath placed in the narrow garden beds.
I decided to balance the design by adding another smaller matching trough planter to the left side as a feature. I cut timber to size, aged it by painting it and mounted my clients metal piece onto the timber after being rust-treated and lightly painted to look aged.
By adding a collection of smaller pots to match my clients huge tall existing mustard coloured urn, the small alfresco now boasts complimenting textures & colours that blend well with the existing limestone & brick boundary wall. I suggested adding bamboo poles to the urn since it doesn't have drainage holes & is already very heavy!
This tiny space was maximized to utilize every corner as well as providing practical solutions for privacy screening where required. The result is a tiny welcoming peaceful green sanctuary.
