I agree with all the elements listed and would urge people to give themselves more than one place to sit outside. Have a place for a rainy day in late winter when you have bad cabin fever. Have a day to bask in sunshine in early spring or late fall. Have a shaded place on the east side of the house in the summer. Have a front porch to wave at neighbors walking the dog or waiting for your visitors to arrive. Have a place to watch the birds at the feeder or the bees and butterflies at your mints. Have a pair of chairs that faces the setting sun in spring and fall. A pair of chairs is one of the most inviting scenes. Nothing fancier than that. I have several... Four. They are heavy Adirondack chairs I don't have to move for any storm. I also have a seat wall that doubles as a retaining wall on one side, but not the other. Both look fine, solid concrete. Love them in late winter especially to absorb the scant warmth of the sun. Point is... Don't skimp on yourself. Make your entire yard a place to LIVE!
