“Portland Closet Company goes way beyond closets. They have designs that allow for harmonious small space living. We owned a 400 sq. ft. studio condo in NW Portland. Thru the design, quality, and professional installation of cabinetry by Portland Closet Company, we lived there very comfortably. We had dual wall beds that turned into a gorgeous wall unit by day. In the little dressing room, they installed floor-to-ceiling closets with a dresser w/drawers and mirror, hanging space, built-in washer and dryer and even a cubby for the (ahem) privacy needs of our kitty. You can still view our little pied-a-terre NW Portland condo on their website: portlandcloset.com/spaces. Scroll down to wall beds. The first two photos are our former condo, which was also featured in Explore the Pearl magazine. Love their professionalism and plan to pay them a visit soon for our current 750 sq. ft. condo needs.”

“Closets To Go is simply fantastic! Very easy to work with... you can use their online designer or work with one of their staff members for a "custom design". All you need are the measurements and an idea of what type of storage you want (drawers, cubbies, baskets, hanging, etc.) I've used Closets To Go for 3 of our closets: master walk-in at our old house, master walk-in at our new house, and my son's bedroom. I even recommended this to my in-laws and they purchased a system. Cheaper than having a professional designer and installer do the work. Everything arrives pre-drilled and cut. You just do the mounting. Very easy and provides SO MUCH better storage. Pam and her team are very easy to work with. I will more than likely outfit the rest of my closets using Closets To Go.”

We had one issue where some of our our drawer pulls were back ordered, it took much longer to get them and Laurie helped us with our frustration by keeping us updated on the status. “Thimmappa's team built new drawers and drawer and cabinet organizers for our kitchen update a week ago. We absolutely LOVE our new drawers and organized kitchen!
They worked closely with our refinishing contractor to custom build gloriously functional and efficient drawers, replacing all of our kitchen drawers. He recommended taking four small stacking drawers and making them into two deep drawers, and I'm so glad we did. They are much more functional with the deep space - perfect for organizing all those plastic storage containers and their lids, and more easily accessible for our small child. We also got the drawer-in-drawer - two cutlery trays in one drawer. It is a very cool, functional design and nice to have all my utensils in one spot for easy organization to find just the right tool. Finally, they built and installed an amazing blind corner organizer in my dark, cavernous corner, bottom cabinet. I always felt the cabinet in the corner was not useful and anything that was put in there was lost forever. Not now. The trays easily glide out so that I can access all the items without having to crawl into the cabinet. It seems like I have double the space with the same cabinet.
There were two items I wanted to add to the project and ordered, but they didn't fit. Thimmappa was very flexible, removing those items from the project. ShelfGenie's portion of the project cost about $4400, with the total project costing about $12,000.

“If I could give Jill a 5+ rating, I would! Jill and I have worked together over the last several years - first as a big effort, when I moved to town and needed to fit into a smaller space, and then periodically to work on specific rooms, a storage unit, and my paperwork (especially daunting). Jill is an expert at visualizing where things might go, and to make them look appealing- she has a terrific flair for design and has many helpful ideas.
Her style is collaborative and helpful, never judging- for a disorganized person, this is huge. To say that her skills have helped me have a better quality of life is not an exaggeration. Being more organized makes me feel good about my myself and my living space, allows me to feel ok to have people over, and removes a lot of the time and stress I used to have trying to find things. On top of that, her prices are reasonable.
Another thing I like about working with her is that she will take things from your home to donate elsewhere- e.g., to worthy causes like the nonprofit Dress for Success for low-income women to help them find work, to the local library, to Goodwill and other charities. And she has ideas/recommendations for other professionals like carpet cleaners, appraisers, picture framing places, etc. And finally, she somehow makes the organizing fun rather than a chore!”
