I’m a furniture maker, a designer, a builder and an artist. My interest in building furniture was sparked at the University of New Hampshire, where I received an Associates Degree in Forestry. One of the courses I participated in was a “source to finish” class involving everything from harvesting, skidding, and cherry picking to sawing the timber in our own small mill. I became fascinated with wood as a building medium. I got my degree at Montana State University where I spent summers as a horse logger and carpenter apprenticing under my Uncle Robert Clark, master carpenter and equestrian extraordinaire. I built a cabin for myself in the Gravely Mountain Range in southwest Montana. While I enjoyed carpentry and building, I knew my passion was fine furniture. I attended an intensive furniture and design program at The Penland School of Crafts in Penland, NC. I opened a studio/shop for a brief period of time in Bozeman, Montana before moving my life and business to North Ferrisburgh, Vermont in 2000. In 2007 I studied under master chairwright, Hal Taylor, focusing on building Sam Maloof style rocking chairs. In the spring of 2016 my family and I moved to North Yarmouth, Maine in the rolling hills northwest of Portland. Presently, I focus on building everything from traditional to modern, Sam Maloof style rocking chairs to one-of-a-kind pieces. I am inspired by the fluid forms of nature. Let me work with you to create a one-of-a-kind piece that meets your specific needs and brings the familiar beauty of the outdoors into your home. If you prefer, any one of the designs in my web gallery can be recreated as shown or with a variety of different wood combinations. I invite you to call and make an appointment or e-mail questions, ideas, or photos of your living space. If you live in the area, I would be happy to come to your home to plan the piece with you. My furniture has a lifetime guarantee for as long as you or your family owns one of my pieces. I can ship anywhere in the continental US and Canada or where ever one can drive, fly, or sail. I look forward to working with you to create an heirloom "objet d'art" that will be loved for generations. Sincerely, Kit Clark

I specialize in handcrafting Tables and Furniture using Ocean Driftwood which has been discovered on Maine's beautiful Ocean Islands and coastlines. "I find the wood to have qualities and characteristics that no other wood has. Seasoned by Mother Nature's greatness, the wood really inspires me to continue to craft tables and furniture that I hope you or the person you buy for will enjoy for years to come". When you put in an order, you are hiring me to build you a Custom piece, unless otherwise stated. This is what makes your item so unique... A One Of a Kind Item

Finely crafted of solid "heartwood" teak (tectona grandis), garden furniture from Island Teak Company will provide you a lifetime of use in your outdoor environment. The high oil and rubber content in teak makes it virtually immune to rot, splinters, and insects. Boat builders have used teak for hundreds of years because of its performance in the harsh marine environment. Our furniture is specially made to our high standards in Java, Indonesia. Jack Stone, owner of Island Teak and boat builder for 30 years, personally travels to Java to inspect and improve each piece of furniture for quality of workmanship and material. He has also designed many of the pieces we sell. As the direct importer we can offer you the highest quality at the best price anywhere! We offer wholesale pricing - from a small truckload to 40-foot containers delivered to a port near you.. Please call Jack for a quote. We insist on the use of ecologically harvested timber, certified for chain of custody by “Smart Wood,” a program of the Rainforest Alliance. For every tree cut, three are planted. We use only kiln-dried wood. All major structural joints are tight-fitting, machine-quality mortise and tenons, pinned and glued with polyurethane glue; the best for teak. We only use solid brass fittings, and each piece is hand finished for an extremely smooth texture.

If you love the game of billiards, extraordinary craftsmanship, fine art - or all three - your next game should be played on a luxury pool table from Hatch Studio. Guided by the vision of master craftsman Howard Hatch, Hatch Studio is dedicated to creating billiards tables in elegant and original contemporary designs from the most beautiful and durable hardwoods and inlays. Our signature line of handcrafted pool tables draws inspiration from the Art Deco period, 20th-century sculpture, the American Studio Furniture Movement and Howard Hatch's years of experience to create something wholly new and unique: custom billiards tables and billiards room furnishings that stand apart as fully functional works of art. Our custom billiards tables make a bold statement, but play with quiet assurance. Distinguished by massive inner wood construction from hardwoods such as Mahogany, Cherry, Rosewood or Cocobolo, our pool tables absorb sound and vibration and provide a rigid, grounded playing surface. Our stain-resistant worsted billiards cloths are produced in one of England's oldest textile mills, our cushions have the highest natural rubber counts available and our slates are sourced locally from the very best purveyors in your area. Each luxury custom billiards table features gorgeous inlays in wood, Mother of Pearl, metal or stone. And each Hatch studio pool table has our logo inlayed in Mother of Pearl - a mark of the highest quality, the artist's signature. A Hatch Studio custom pool table is the centerpiece of any well-appointed billiards room, and can be accessorized with billiards furnishings from our signature line. Take your game room to the next level with complementary lighting, club chairs, settees, cue racks, gaming tables and coffee tables. Or, select one of these exceptional pieces for any room in your home or office. Inspired design. Meticulous engineering. The finest materials. Built by hand. Hatch Studio elevates billiards tables, game room accessories and large scale wood furnishings to an art form.

Welcome. I have been designing and building furniture and cabinetry for over 20 years most recently out of my newly constructed shop in Edgecomb, Maine. I have worked in a wide range of styles and species of woods and have worked for and collaborated with clients to create a broad array of custom projects from the simple to the complex. I've always enjoyed distinctive shapes and I work to compose unique combinations of them in my furniture, focusing a keen eye on proportion, detail, and, if a commission, relationship to the environment the piece will inhabit. My goal for each project is to combine both the highest degree of engineering and visual design with impeccable craftsmanship using the most beautiful and appropriate materials, whether that project be a freestanding furniture piece or a built-in home office. Please contact me by phone or email for more information about any of the pieces you see here on my site including availability, prices and customization options. I would also be happy to discuss designing and creating a totally new piece of furniture to suit your particular needs. Thank you for your interest in my work. I look forward to being in touch! Sincerely, Eben
