“Our experience with Caryn Paradis was excellent from start to finish. We had an unfinished basement that we wanted to finish and didn't know where to begin. Caryn talked with us in detail about how we wanted to use our basement and then came up with plans that included all of our needs as well as ideas that we hadn't even considered but should have. She was able to design a space that incorporated areas for everyone in our family, including our young son--even a stage that could be pulled apart for use as couches when he becomes a teenager! Because we live in separate states, Caryn was able to do much of the work remotely with minimal visits to our home to take measurements, etc. She had finish samples sent directly to us quickly and walked us through the decision making process. She designed specific requests, such as a fireplace for my husband and a guest room/office area. Caryn paid attention not only to the aesthetics of the job, but also the practicalities, such as outlet placement and HVAC. She also included amenities such as a well-placed dorm fridge which will come in handy when our son is old enough to use the space as a hang-out with friends. All in all, the job was smooth, well-designed and surprisingly painless. Caryn listened to our needs and then exceeded them. We would recommend her without reservation.”

I wanted to keep it simple, but warm and colorful. Christie struck just the right chord. She also introduced me to sources for furnishings that I would not have known about on my own and saved me from costly mistakes and do-overs. “I have known Lori Buck for 10+ years. When I did a complete overhaul of my living room/dining room/kitchen/porch, she was with me every step of the way. From designing the rooms and spaces to picking out every last detail, Lori was confident, in tune with my lifestyle, open to all of my ideas and needs and so happy doing her job. My home is the way I want it, not the vision of a clueless designer. She picked paint colors, fabrics and furniture that, more then ten years later, are still elegant, functional and comfortable. My next project is the master bedroom/ bathroom/office. I cannot wait to get started with her. When you start an update or total renovation of your home, it should not be a burden or something you dread to face each day. It never was for me, not once. Each step was carefully taken and completed. You will not go wrong with Buck's Designs.”

As my apartment was a gut renovation, there were hundreds of decisions to be made and Brooke was there for all of them. I was able to be as involved or as hands off as my schedule allowed. The various technologies she uses really helped me to vet through many design options and understand what the final product would look like. “I have worked with Debra Geller both for my own home and on multiple multi-family buildings my family operates. She decorated our home, she helped design a 3,000 s/f furnished basement build out, she helped rebuild 4 building lobbies after Superstorm Sandy. She is professional, responsive, and has an attention to detail that eliminates problems before they arise. Her ability to identify a customer’s tastes, illustrate it in a way they can imagine it, they execute all while coming in on budget and on time is second to none. Can’t recommend her services enough.”

“We worked with Hartley & Hill Design to completely renovate and redesign our kitchen last summer. They were fantastic and we cannot say enough about how wonderful they were. We met with them and described the concepts that we wanted (functional and classic, keeping in mind that we like to entertain, but we have small children and a busy family life). They put together the design and sat down with us to explain their ideas very thoroughly and also run through the budget. They came up with a fantastic design that we never would have thought possible, incorporating very creative ideas, while still keeping in mind our budget as well as our personal preferences. It was a very collaborative process, with us being as involved as we wanted to be, but not feeling like we had to manage a project; they expertly managed the project for us! All of the subcontractors they hired were first class. The renovation was very well organized, there was consistent open communication, any hiccups along the way (as will happen in any project this size) were managed smoothly and effectively. Needless to say, we are thrilled with the end result. We can't wait to use them again soon to redesign our dining room/living room area. We would highly recommend them!”

“Charlene is an absolute dream to work with. After moving into a 2 BR condo in New York, I needed someone who could highlight the best qualities of the space and create a vibe that was both chic and cozy at the same time. I had a few ideas stylistically about what I wanted, but Charlene crystallized the vision and brought it to life in a way that I never could have envisioned. The priorities for the project were the kitchen, living room, and the main bedroom. At our first design consultation, we discussed fabrics, finishes, and color palette, taking into consideration not just how the pieces and textures would look together but also how each room would feel when you walked into it. What I appreciated most about the process is Charlene's ability to merge her eye for design with creating a space that was totally personal and also functional. I had a few vintage pieces with sentimental value that I wanted to incorporate, and we found a way to feature them among the more modern design elements. It was also important to me to include some items that were locally-sourced, and Charlene was able to find some really special ceramic pieces and lighting through her relationships with artisans in the Brooklyn area. She even found a local female-owned and operated painting company to do the limewash in the bedroom. How cool is that?? I am so thankful to have worked with Charlene on this project. She made the entire process seamless and fun, and no detail went unconsidered. The final space is beautiful and leaves me feeling relaxed and reenergized every time I walk in the door. I could not have asked for a better partner on this project.”
