“I own a 1920's Gardener's cottage that was once part of a country estate, run down and falling apart at the seams, unlived in for many years. After making the structural repairs, I needed someone to come in and take over the project, creating what I hoped would become a magical guest hideaway. I had seen several homes that Kathleen Schippers had renovated and I fell in love with her work. She has a wonderful sense of space and color, creating rooms that invite you in. I wanted someone who could make the space practical and feel lived in, while at the same time creating an excitement and beauty for my family and guests. Kathleen did it all! The project was finished in a timely manner and on budget. My expectations were exceeded and now everyone who walks into the cottage is absolutely wowed. She has blended the old with the new, and though it retains all the charm of the 1920's design, it softly brings in some contemporary elements as well. As soon as you walk in the front door, you feel as though you have entered into this beautiful space, but you totally feel at home. Best of all, Kathleen has a down to earth style that makes you feel so comfortable when you're working together. She listens and incorporates what you are hoping to create into her method of design, and you feel very much a part of all the planning and decisions. Kathleen made doing this project fun, and that in itself is a testimony to her work.”

When we first spoke with Emily, we knew right away she would be someone to help make this massive transformation, a joy, rather than burden. From start to finish, Emily was incredible, patiently listening to our visions for the house, curating designs, textures, colors, and pieces, all based on observing and understanding our own styles. The finished result - a house, a home, that is exactly as we had envisioned, making better use of the space, while still keeping the original charm of this house. Emily was spot on with her eye…. From architectural work, to interior details, making this 10 month renovation process that much simpler, and easier. She was incredible at learning what we wanted, matching the neighborhood feel, and making the house feel just right. We then unexpectedly moved to the beach!! “I had recently swapped my dining and living room furniture as we never used the living room, and only used the dining room for larger groups and needed lots of space a couple of times a year. Sarah Herman's came recommended to help me with curtains, carpets, light fixtures and artwork, transforming my furnishings into masterpieces. She was exceptional at tuning into what my preferences were and came up with beautiful options in my budget. I could not be happier with the end result. Every single person who comes to my home compliments the decor of these rooms. I love sitting in my sitting room (previously the dining room) as it is warm and inviting. The new dining room is spectacularly outfitted with a classic Tuscan feel that adds a lot to our culinary experiences in that room.”

“Adair staged my living room, all in a matter of 2 hours by simply changing furniture placement and angling each piece of furniture in a way that is so inviting and comfortable. She has a talent to use accessories in a way that is useful, not just decorative. I am so very pleased with the results. I didn't know how to move forward after painting my living room and how to incorporate color and texture. Adair did that. She is knowledgeable, attuned to your needs and loves what she does. She also took me on a shopping spree at Home Goods just to be more confident with how to complete a room. So, the learning went beyond my home. I am so grateful for her help! I know she will be there for my next challenge, as I would hire her again in a heartbeat!”

“I have retained Karen Cronin on three significant projects. The most recent project was the move from my primary residence(4000 ft.² plus home) in South Jersey into my current residence (large two bedroom apartment at the Ritz residences in Philadelphia Pennsylvania). I am a divorced father of two. I own and run my own business. I work long hours and travel extensively. Bottom line-in a move like this I needed a tremendous amount of help, and based on my previous experience with Karen I had every confidence in her abilities. She exceeded my expectations. On the front end of the move Karen took responsibility to vet and retain movers. She supervised and coordinated the packing of my home, and the move. A stone the size of the home and the amount of furnishings very little was used in my new residence, which required that belongings and furnishings be donated or stored. Karen handled all of this. She was on site for the move out of my South Jersey residence, and coordinated with the building Philadelphia to handle the move-in. She had everything planned well in advance and it ran like clockwork. Because I was moving into a totally different style and size residence, Karen needed to completely design, furnish and accessorize my new residence. This required her to spend considerable time in advance designing, measuring and providing the options based upon my taste and pricing parameters. This move encompassed everything from furniture, to art, lighting, kitchen appliances, etc. Karen furnished and designed for the foyer, living room, dining room, family room and bedrooms. Karen coordinated with the vendors and my building to make arrangements for all deliveries and installation. She handled placement and timing of art. She worked with selected and vetted multiple vendors, including the movers, electricians, plumbers and carpenters. She has exemplary communication skills. We communicated multiple times daily. Based on our extensive experience together my trust in her judgment is absolute-yet, she took no steps without authority. I have absolutely no reservations about giving Karen complete access. She is completely trustworthy I have no reservations about recommending Karen Cronin. I can assure you I will be hiring her again. Completely dependable, the ultimate professional. Punctual. And, she has great taste. My place looks awesome. Constantly receive compliments. Can't go wrong with Karen Cronin!!! I would have no problem speaking with anyone considering Karen.”
