“We had several rooms of the house painted as well as an exterior wooden porch railing. The back sunroom required the most work. The room was originally monochrome, so the ceiling needed to be patched and painted white and three walls needed to be a different color. Then we had a brick wall which needed to be painted white. The kitchen walls were re-painted. The upstairs bedroom ceiling was re-painted. The outside front porch railing needed scraped, skimmed, primed and painted as well as a small portion of exposed wood on the side of the house. Ted was among 4 painters from whom I obtained estimates. Each gave their opinion on what they though should be done in the sunroom which was the most complicated area. Ted was the most precise and knowledgeable. He backed up his opinions with fact and logic. His estimate was not the highest nor the lowest. But he was the only one who broke down the estimate in a clear and concise manner enabling me to choose some or all of the options. He then emailed me a list of references to contact. All the references I contacted praised his work ethic and performance. He then came over with the contract and clearly explained what each section meant before we both signed it. The work was started three days later as he had promised and he sent his best painter, Jules, to do the job. Jules was amazing. His careful attention to detail, his respectful attitude and meticulous methods made things go smoothly. The entire job took about 5 days. At the end of each day, Jules cleaned up the work area and neatly arranged his supplies in a corner out of the way. He was the most easy going, fastidious person I have ever met. When there was a lapse in communication and he inadvertently painted the brick wall green instead of white, I called Ted and the problem was immediately fixed, no questions asked. I kept apologizing to Jules but he just said, "don't worry, it's not a problem." He is a rare find, in my opinion. Ted stopped by on the third day, to check everything and make sure the work was satisfactory. I would not hesitate to recommend Ted and his team to anyone and welcome the opportunity to provide him a reference.”

“EXCELLENT!! Highest quality work and a pleasure to do business with. Always on-time or early when coming to the house, kept me informed every step of the way, and completed the work on schedule. We hired tony for floor to ceiling bookcases that wrapped around two walls. He matched the existing crown molding and base boards perfectly. The bookcases look like they were original to the house!”

“We worked with American Homestead Kitchens, specifically with Darren, on our kitchen that hadn't been remodeled since the 1950's and was limited on space (11' x 11'). We needed more work space and storage. The design Darren came up with used every inch of space we had to transform our kitchen into a beautiful and highly functional work/entertaining area. He was incredibly organized and worked great with our contractor. His patience, expertise and professionalism made our project stress free. His designing skill and quality of cabinetry made our kitchen the envy of all who enter!”

“Jill’s engineering background is her secret weapon to the perfect kitchen design. I knew that she would be able to create an extremely functional kitchen out of our existing space. But having seen the beautiful kitchens that Jill has designed, we were skeptical that she would not be able to design our kitchen within our limited budget. With kids in college, we had decided not to do the dream kitchen that we had planned. Jill scaled back the cost of the kitchen without sacrificing the design. Not only was the kitchen within the budget, it is more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. The cabinets from Plain & Fancy are absolutely gorgeous and of the finest craftsmanship. The details that Jill has chosen have made all of the difference in the design of the kitchen and its functionality. She helped us chose our contractors as well and was there every step of the way making changes that make the kitchen truly custom. We reworked the space to better suit our families needs and also created a fantastic area for entertaining.
