Original hand paintings on ceramic tile. These colorful and one-of-a-kind pieces can be used as coasters, trivets, or simply displayed as pieces of art. Using mixed media and layering creates a unique 3D effect. The paintings appear to move and take on a different look in various lighting. Since it is ceramic tile, it is perfectly safe to use them in a bathroom as a decorative piece or they can be installed as a backsplash. If used as trivets, hot temperatures on the surface should not exceed 120 degrees. To clean, simply wipe them down with water and a non-abrasive cloth. High quality felt backing is 100% polyester fiber made with recycled post consumer water bottles and BPA free, humidity resistant and made in USA.

A fine artist in Chicago using Acrylic paint on Canvas- large scale paintings. I also work with clients on commission paintings. The act of painting for me is a combination of spontaneity and purposeful strokes. My paintings are extensions of myself. I take a question, an emotion, a belief and I paint it. My technique involves using assertive color combinations, textural nuances and structural build-up to form each piece of vibrant art. I like to try to break the barriers of color and risk failing in order to achieve the perfect balance.
Paul Roberts is a self-taught, Chicago-based artist who’s medium consists of layers of oils, acrylics and mixed media on canvas. His work is abstract in form and often reflective of natural and geographic elements. Paul expresses his emotions through his art. He releases his creative talents in his basement studio every evening and weekend as he believes that artistic ability is more effectively expressed when one is close to his work. As a Political Science major at the University of Iowa, Paul finds himself immersed in a world wrought with political turmoil. His opinions regarding a broken government system, religion and climate change often make their way onto canvas. He describes his process as “thought out loud” as he manipulates various mediums on canvas. This creates layer upon layer and adds texture and depth, something he finds is often missing in life. Since winning the “Gold Key” for painting in a state-wide competition at the age of 14, Paul's passion has been his art. After a break to acquire his degrees, Paul resumed this passion. In 13 years of exhibiting his work he has been featured in several Chicago galleries including Gruen Galleries, Modlife and Gallery 312. His work has been photographed in Elle Decor as well as Chicago Social Magazine.
