I’m a bit of a concrete nerd - I am passionate about creating beautiful surfaces and products out of polished concrete. I started Conscious Forms in 2004, after studying furniture design at degree and Masters level. My first commission was to design furniture for an industrial style bar, concrete was the perfect material and I have loved it ever since! Conscious Forms creates “Conscious functional concrete forms” of an architectural nature - we are known for casting concrete in-situ, enabling us to create large seamless concrete to any shape or form, it’s versatility and aesthetics makes it the perfect material to bring a bespoke design statement in to your home, and is particularly good material for bespoke kitchen worktops. A lot of our projects involve working on polished concrete worktops for new build kitchen extensions, that have a rich array of other materials which helps the concrete to shine. Having a new kitchen extension opens up a new opportunity for creativity with concrete surfaces and we can help clients to make informed creative decisions - the ecstatic response I receive from clients when they see their very own concrete design piece is priceless - Give me a call to create yours! Come down to our Hackney Wick studio to view our concrete samples. Call Junior on 07956 682887 to make an appointment!

Scott Phillips and Marcos Steverlynck started Rise Art in 2011 with a mission to revolutionise the way people find and buy art. Our experts scour the globe looking for great art, from extraordinary artists; new artists, doing new things, in any medium and any genre. It’s all for sale, priced to suit different budgets. We’ll give you advice (if you want it), we’ll sort out shipping and packing, framing (it’s up to you) and we’ll even let you try it at home before you decide to buy (we run an art rental scheme). And if something doesn’t work out — you can return it, free. No hassle. If you work in interior design and need art, we can help. We’ve put our trade programme together with design companies and practitioners in mind. With us you’ll find every style, across every genre — and all of it chosen by one of our curators. That means somebody expert, and independent, whose main goal in life is to hunt down great art around the world. Talk to us, we offer a free service designed to make your working life easier. We’ll work with you to find one-of-a-kind, curator-selected artworks for any environment, whether you’re an architect, property developer or a designer. And once you’ve chosen, we handle everything else — delivery, framing, installation.
Murals and Trompe L’Oeil paintings can provide your home or business with a distinctive charm and personality, which can encapsulate your tastes and interests. Trompe l’oeil is a French expression, which directly translates as 'trick the eye'. They are a painted illusion, a visual joke which are intrinsically designed to deceive the viewer to believe that what they are seeing is real. Throughout my website, there are many examples of my murals, where you can see the diversity of my work. I have undertaken commissions for a wide range of clients, ranging from restaurants and hotels to private homes and children’s rooms. I also paint glow-in-the-dark star ceilings that create the illusion that the ceiling has been removed on a clear night. These effects are usually completed in one day - more details and prices can be found on my website. Additionally, I have had the fortune to showcase my mural painting on television including interior makeover programmes on BBC1 and ITV 1. I have also produced instructional books on trompe l'oeil painting - 'Trompe L'Oeil Interiors' 2002 and the 'Trompe L'Oeil Bible' 2003. Recently I have added three more books on step-by-step trompe l'oeil painting - 'Venetian Window' , 'Sun & Moon Mosaic' and 'Orange Tree'. These new books are published by Blue Macaw Publications and more details can be found in the 'projects' section in this site. Before undertaking each mural, I provide a no obligation consultation and preliminary sketches and designs. If you are happy with what you see, I will then supply a quotation for the prospective work. I am based in Essex and I can cover the areas of London and the home countries. Occasionally I will work further afield to cover the whole of the UK and abroad.

One part of my work is with archaeological artifacts that I find on the Thames foreshore and surrounding areas. Each piece of work is a unique one off and contains at between 500 and up to a 1000 years of archaeological history. Each piece of work comes with detailed account of what the artifacts are and there age. I am also now also concentrating on my work using rubbings of New York manhole covers. This is a project I have had on the back burner for a year now while busy with other work. I am very excited about this project and think these covers would be perfect for film sets and interior designers as well as private homes.

DS works has several strands to the bow: fine art, hand painted murals and the Rammed Earth Sculpture project. The murals are among the most original, and imaginative available anywhere in the world. There are many delightful details and ideas in each one which take time to get to know. I am happy to work with you in creating a mural for your own space - any room is possible. Children´s rooms are very popular to help your children grow up in a creative space, individual to your child´s taste and interests. The abstract canvases have a unique flowing, organic style to them. Over the years more than a hundred have been sold. The rammed earth sculpture project is a pioneering attempt to create a new and sustainable sculpture medium using rammed earth. In effect it is like recreating sedimentary rock and has been used for building walls since ancient times. Now Dominic Snow and a handful other pioneers around the world are adapting this as a sculpture medium.
