White Hill Design Studio LLP is a family run, award-winning Scottish architectural design consultancy specialising in PassivHaus & sustainable design. We make sustainable, comfortable homes and buildings that are amazing spaces to be. We design healthy 'forever' homes that help people feel safe, secure, warm, connected, rooted - we want 'coming home' to mean something profound and deep. We work with our clients to create their dream home that fully expresses their taste and their lifestyles. We like to connect our buildings to the environment around it - creating edible, beautiful and abundant landscapes that are alive with wildlife and the natural cycle of the year. We're inspired by nature, Permaculture, patterns and cycles. We even throw a bit of Feng Shui and sacred geometry into the mix to make sure the building feels 'just right' in its setting. Alongside private clients, we work with commercial developers as well as community & statutory organisations, especially in the residential, hotel & leisure sectors. We believe that it’s not enough to have a single house that's eco – we’re motivated to create communities that are well connected - shared sufficiency not self sufficiency! We'd love to hear from you, contact us today to talk through your project.

He has also undertaken restaurant, hotel, town planning, and other commercial projects. His work is today concentrated in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders where he is based. The practice is supplemented by additional design input from specialists depending on the complexity/nature of any particular project. Architect based in Carlisle, working mainly in North West England, with some projects further afield. I specialise in new houses, house extensions and work to Listed Buildings, including properties in Conservation Areas. I have a friendly approach. I enjoy listening to clients' wishes for their project and how they want to live or work in their property, then developing those wishes into drawings for permissions and building from. I am particularly enthusiastic about simple, carefully thought out buildings and low energy consumption resulting not just from reliance on mechanical systems, but from good initial design. A recent client wrote this when I had completed my work for them: 'Thank you for all of the work you have done for us, we are both very happy with everything you have done'. Mr and Mrs Park.
